The Saints have given up 327 total points in the 12 games 2012. That's an average of 27.3 points per game. In the Stats published by NFL.com and ESPN.com, those numbers are exactly attributed to the defense.

This means that Brees pick-6s are counted against the defense. If you want to know how, it's math based on definitions. If you wish to complain, the NFL guide is NFL Digest of Rules

And.... Those the record for those stats "by definition" is no where in danger of being broken by the Saints. The only record the Saints stand to set is for yardage, not points. Your arguing apples and oranges.
