All off-season I heard how much the TE position was going ot mean to this offense.
A lot of it was from Boo himself, but even Archie Manning backed it up on NFL radio. My question is, how come it never translates on the field? Boo was non existant Sat., Ernie had three catches... that brings the pre-season total to 5 for TE's None by Boo Mark this for the regualr season, the TE will go un-used... |

Boo made his mark. It was a dropped pass that would have gone for a first down. That\'s impact, baby!

I think the TEs will be integral to the offense this year. I thought Conwell looked pretty good (he made at least one tough catch on some sort of out pattern), and Boo will scare people (and keep them honest or feeling missmatched) even if catches only 1/3 of the passes directed to him. He ran good routes and has plenty of speed.
What I saw the coaches doing last night was using the H-back in motion to the FB position. This leads me to believe they want to see if our TEs can be used to block from the backfield. I think we\'ll keep only one FB and 4-5 TEs on the roster this year. That will give us some options in the play action and small front running games. |
