The Harbaughs are using teams built by their predecessors. Belichik isn't going on the market until Brady retires. I don't agree about Tomlin or Carrol. Cowher is a great coach, but high power passing offenes are what's hot and Sean knows it as good or better than anyone. Let me ask, how many of those coaches would have been able to come in in 2006 and build a team that won a Superbowl? Belichik is the only one I would go out on that limb for.

But one could also say why go after Payton since its likely his success is due to Drew Brees.

Many here have said if we lost Brees we'd be lucky to win 6 games. I think all the players here were brought in by Payton/Loomis. So without Brees what makes Payton so desirable?

I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just kinda curious. I think he's a great coach, but without Brees? Who knows?

Well first of all Brees wasn't SP's first choice, he tried to get Romo away from Dallas. I do believe Romo would've been a far better QB under SP's tutelage. SP knows how to guide and develop a QB. I believe he did this with Brees, getting the most out of him, something the staff in SD was only able to scratch the surface of. SP is the consumate offensive playcaller, and with a little bit of defense he'll have us back in top form in no time.

I thought he tried to get Romo after we signed Brees.

Hey, I got a new thread title:
Assuming Nick Saban is going to be our next coach.

It must be 4:20. The last 3 threads I've visited. "Saban to N.0", "Lets Trade Brees for Cam Newton," and "Hey, Lets Throw the Dallas Game."

I need a drink.

And then you can go pee on the "old" fence. :D

In any case, Saban to New Orleans would get me to stop hating on him.
Anything to get him out of Alabama. :cry2: Geaux LSU!!!

Where are these people coming from? Trade Drew for Cam Newton, let the Cowboys win, Nick Saban as Saints HC!

Let's hire A.J. Smith while we're at it.

I'd much rather have Payton. Saban failed as an NFL coach and then left and went back to college.
