Year end awards
Well it's over! I wish we could just delete this season from the books but unfortunately history doesn't work that way. All in all I guess there have been worse seasons (2005 comes to mind) but this one hurts because we had such high expectations before Roger did what he did. This wasn't even the worst since Payton/Brees got here. I give that one to '07.
As bad as we feel right now we still have a lot to be thankful for. We have one of the best QBs in the game, we're getting our championship coach back and we still have one of if not the best offenses in the league. Yeah the D stinks to historic proportions but I think with Paytons leadership we'll only be moderately bad in '13. But this is about this year, 2012. I'll list the categories and my vote then let you give your thoughts. MVP -Drew Brees Offensive player of the year. -Marques Colston. (Yeah I know he dropped a lot of balls but who else? maybe Jahri Evans?) Defensive player of the year -Cam Jordan (Lofton is a close second.) Rookie of the Year -Akiem Hicks Special teams Player of the Year -who else. Thomas Moorestead Bset Offensive Play. Ivory's 51 yarder against Atl. (Morgan's TD against TB= Honorable mention. Best Defensive play -P Rob's 99 yd pick six. Goat of the Year, Offense. (AKA contradiction of the Year) -Marques Colston Goat of the Year, Defense -Pretty much everybody not named Jordan, Hicks or Lofton. |

But as far as goats go, you can add Colston for his drops, Henderson for his frequent disappearing acts, Brees for his ridculous amount of picks and bad games, Robinson for regressing instead of improving, Greer for playing awful most of the season, Jenkins for not grasping a system tailor made for his skillset, Patrick for his total 180 degree development. |

Graham dropped more passes than Colston but Colston's fumbles put him at the top of the list for me. |
