The New Orleans Saints hold the No. 15 pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft
The NFL announced the tentative order of the first round of the 2013 Draft, which will be held on April 25-27, on Monday. The NFL Draft will kick off in primetime for the fourth consecutive year. The first round will be held on Thursday, April 25. The second and third rounds are set for Friday, April 26. Rounds four through seven will be held on Saturday, April 27. 1. Kansas City Chiefs 2. So we have the hardest schedule of the five teams tied for the same won/loss record and we get the 15th pick instead of the 11th?
The Saints, who finished 7-9 this season, were in a five-way tie for the 11th-worst mark in the league. But they were pushed to the bottom of that group — which also includes San Diego, Miami, Tampa Bay and Carolina — on the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker. Saints’ opponents this season posted a 133-122-1 record for a .521 winning percentage. San Diego (.457 opponents’ winning percentage) got the 11th pick, followed by Miami (.500), Tampa Bay (.502) and Carolina (.516). Why strength of schedule matter if a team swept you; if anything you look @ strength of schedule if it was a split & w/l are the same.
