Reading the comments on that article really p***ed me off. All the smart a** comments about our defense sucking because we couldn't use bounties anymore... What a truck load of BS.

Dude honestly....there's no point even wasting time thinking or getting mad at idiots like that.

But on a side note...."unnnamed source" reports like this are the reason for lockeroom dissent. Its hard for leaders to police their team, sit down and talk about it when...

1. you don't know who it is that is supposedly "speaking for everyone"

2. now that its a national story...even if the team has a sit down to hash it out....the player IS NOT going to step up and expose themselves.

You see Vilma has already posted on twitter that he is unhappy about this and wants to know who it is....it just causes a lot of needless tension among the players and hassle from the media that we DO NOT need this offseason.

The comment from the player that makes me laugh is "It can't just be the talent".
The missed tackles that cost us more than anything are on the players.No excuses for not wrapping up a player.
Far too often missed tackles caused massive yards to be given up in the run.

This is my whole point....its not like the same problems weren't constant when Spags wasnt here. Maybe you don't like him, "mr. unnamed source" because you couldn't do one of the top 3 fundamental things a defensive player has be taught since pop warner and therefore he did something GW didn't do....he sat your a** on the bench and put someone out there that was at least slightly better at doing that than you were.

I know they aren't worth the time and energy, but I tend to have an allergic reaction to morons. I just can't believe people can be so stupid. It's one thing when people say things I don't agree with, but some people just secrete stupidity out of every part of their body.

As for the player, I've given my thoughts on him, and I agree with you. But I'm not personally worried about how it will effect the team. I think the player will eventually surface from internal pressure. It was definitely a stupid move by Larry Holder to report this, though. It's just another negative for people in the media to talk about.

Imagine Jackson, Mills, Johnson, and Swilling with Spags as a coach. When the Dome Patrol is mentioned or talked about in the news who the D-coordinator is never mentioned. Most dont even know who it was.

When was the last time we saw tackling like this? It wasn't the coach.

You're right in part by saying it wasn't the coach because it was 4 coaches that put it together 2 of which are still putting great defenses out there. Sidwell was the DC but Vic Fangio (now with 49ers) and Dom Capers now with Green Bay all contributed in making the dome patrol with help from Mora who brought in USFL talent with Mills and Johnson and you had Wade Phillips from the previous staff that drafted Rickey Jackson so I guess you could 3 ex Saints coaches still getting it done with defenses. Coaches teach and players play and you need both to be successful.
