That being said, I'm happy we have Drew. Jus' sayin'...

He caught the high-paid curse.

I couldn't agree more. Sure I love having Drew on the team, but that day will come where we will have to survive without him.

Just seems lately if you make any comment towards Drew Brees people around here get all hurt

I'm not hating on Drew. I wouldn't trade Brees for any other quarterback in the NFL.

That being said...

Drew's completion percentage was the lowest it's been since he's been a Saint. I realize there were a lot of drops this season but not enough to explain an 8% decline in completions from last season. It's not bad compared to the average NFL quarterback but then we all know he's not an average quarterback. I don't believe the o-line played as well this season as it has in the past but it was still in the top 3rd of the league in pass blocking efficiency. Several teams with worse lines, had better interception numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Drew Brees but if we're going to criticize a guy for missing too many tackles or criticize a guy for dropping too many passes, then it's only fair to criticize a guy for leading the NFL in interceptions and having the lowest completion percentage he's had since he's been here.

Re: Brees holds himself accountable for up-and-down 2012

He just didnt play well this season, and for a number of good reasons, recievers that lead the league in dropped passed causing 3 and outs or long yardage 3rd downs, and reasons that was his fault.
Usually Im in awe of Brees, but he held the ball alot, and saw A LOT of late passes by him. Probably because he didnt train with the team.
But he carried the team for so long Im willing to give him a pass, everyone screws up sometime.
