Defenisve ends vs. Cornerbacks?

Do you think a cornerback or a defensive end has the bigger impact on the defense?

I think Deion Sanders had a huge impact on some of the defenses he played on. But is that the exception to the rule or the norm? Darell Green was another huge impact player at CB. Rod Woodson was too. But were those CBs the heart and soul of their teams? Champ Baily is considered to be the best at CB in todays game. How big of an impact has he made?

What about the defensive ends? Simeon Rice is a good one in todays game. Bruce Smith was an impact player for the Bills. Reggie White was a great one. Julius Peppers is another good one. But were they the heart and soul of their teams?

If you were buliding a team, which woud you rather have?

Sanders complimented good defenses and made them better , he allowed defensive coordinators the ability to use heavier blitz packages on passing siuations .

So for my money - Corner .

Michael Vick can roll to the other side and pick apart a sad secondary ....

Michael Vick can also dump it off to his RB, and watch as he sprints down the sidelines, past Sanders, cause the bastard won\'t tackle.

Roll to the other side - yes.
Pick apart - we\'ll see.

If I already have 2 above average DEs, I would rather have a corner than a 3rd DE.
