I'll concede the jury is still out on Hawthorne. Injuries, new system, new position, sucky front four.

I hope he improves, but it still feels like square peg round hole to me.
Which is why the front 7 needs work
OLB and DE are the most needed positions to address, I think DT will be okay with hicks and Tom Johnson, I like those two players
I still believe we need bigger corners, yeah a pass rush will help but our corners get man handled regardless plus Greer isn't young and showing signs of deterioration
Pat Robinson - how he was a first round pick ill never know, one of our scouts f'ed that up

I don't recall out front 7 looking much different than it does now in 2009, Sharper was the difference.

Agreed sharper was the difference but another major factor I think was the fact our defense confused and rushed offenses constantly

Our players fit GW's system because it was an attack now ask questions later sort of D, now it's more complex players are struggling, some of them just show a lack of talent

We need upgrades at front 7 but we need a ball hawk, in 2010 we screwed a healthy Darren sharper over for Malcolm Jenkins, look how it worked out for us, badly

Well, for one, Will Smith had a career year with 13 sacks with 3 forced fumbles - we haven't seen him anywhere near those numbers since.

That alone could suggest that the front 4 at least was providing more pressure on the opposing QBs, which could have led to more errand passes by the said QBs, which could have led to the high number of interceptions by Mr. Sharper.

Of course that is all "could'ves" but at least Mr. Smith looked like a different (younger & and more hungry) version of himself in 2009.

Sedrick Ellis said in an interview during the preseason that GW's system for the front 4 was far more complex than what it is in Spags' system and because of it he was expecting to have a much more productive year.

To me that sounds like sed Ellis trying to make excuses for doing nothing in the NFL for 6 years

He's utterly useless
