Odd quote from Horn on Brooks?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; "I'm disappointed but not enough to act like we just lost a playoff game," said wide receiver Joe Horn, who dropped two passes. "Yeah, you're supposed to catch balls. I didn't try to drop them, trust me. It's not like ...

Odd quote from Horn on Brooks?

"I'm disappointed but not enough to act like we just lost a playoff game," said wide receiver Joe Horn, who dropped two passes. "Yeah, you're supposed to catch balls. I didn't try to drop them, trust me. It's not like I lined up and said, 'Let me drop these balls because Aaron's throwing 'em.' But it happened. We just have to be more focused in practice and catch more balls against Chicago.
I find that comment a bit suspicious. Anyone else read something into this quote?

It\'s always hard to tell what someone means without being able to put in context.

But, yes, it does sound odd. Whether it\'s Books, O\' Sullivan, or Bouman throwing the ball, Joe needs to catch the football.

Joe is one of my favorite players on this team. He\'s been a great player for us. But Joe needs to be more professional this year. Joe needs to stop worring about his image.

I think Joe is starting to turn some fans off with some of the things he\'s said and done.

This team needs leaders and especially at the receiver position.

joe used to be one of my favorite guys on this team too

however when there were trade talks in the offseason i found myself almost hoping a deal would happen

at this point i think an arguement can be made, it might be somewhat flimsy but not out of the question, that the saints should start donte/pathon and let horn share time with henderson as the #3 WR, and i can almost guarantee that this is joe\'s last year with the saints

as far as reading into his comment, i wouldn\'t read anything in to it

Does seeing a quote like that after Horn\'s comments about AB at the end of last year start to make the 08/Gator CONSPIRACY THEORY that the WRs lost faith in AB seem a little more credible? Just wondering?

In any case, yeah, that\'s interesting and not something I want to see again.

This would hurt the team and our chances of making the playoffs. I don\'t think Haslett would do it, cause 1) It doesn\'t make sense to take your best receiver and make him your #3. 2) Haslett would like to keep his job.

Think mayb someone has made the comment Joe drops balls to make AB look bad? It\'s possible.
That\'s probably where that comment came from. Joe either read something accusing him or it came up in the conversation and this comment was directed at his critics. A dropped pass may look bad when you look at ABs stats, but first of all it looks bad when Joe can\'t hang on to the ball.
He has nothing to gain from dropping ball and that\'s what he is pointing out.

B&B you are assuming that horn is still our best WR, i don\'t know that he is

yeah he has better numbers but is that a result of him being open more often or a result of he\'s always the first read in plays? i haven\'t done any number crunching but i wonder what the catch versus thrown to ratio is among our WR\'s

pathon has been far more consistent than any other WR on the team, horn conwell and stallworth all drop too many balls

i think that if you put pathon in horn\'s position (meaning making him the first read in plays) that he could easily match if not better horn\'s numbers, i know he has more heart than joe, how many times last year did we see pathon lay out for passes? and as far as physicalitiy joe is no specimen

besides joe is gone after this year super bowl or not
