Best Saints WR poll
rusta got me thinking in the other thread. Was wondering how many out there share the same sentiments as he does.
My vote goes to Horn, hands down. He may have his share of drops, but he is thrown to more often than any of our other receivers, and I really don't see anyone else on the team that can do what he has done. My first instinct was to attack his post, but my therapist has me working through some things, and attacking a viewpoint I believe is completely incorrect would be one of them :P Who do you think is the Saints' best receiver? Best Saints WR poll
c\'mon B&B you know i have thicker skin than most :P
when healthy stallworth is our best WR, he\'s got the size and speed i still have have to go with pathon at #2, after last year i think he\'s a better possesion WR than horn is, two years ago I would agree that horn was our best guy, but last year horn showed some age while pathon did the most with what little he was given henderson? who knows, but when we drafted him (after i stopped cheering) i knew horn was on his way out, haslett was trying to get rid of horn and while haz might not be able to captain the ship i think we agree that he\'s a pretty good boat builder |

Pathon dropped his fair share last year, you just don\'t remember it as much because he didn\'t have as many passes thrown to him.
Stallworth has Horn beat on speed, though not by much, but Horn has him beat in height by 1\", I believe. Size and speed, though, do not make a WR in the NFL. Horn is the best route runner, his jumping is superior to most WR in the league, and he damn good at adjusting to the play. He also has great hands. Things I picked up on thusfar in the preseason. Henderson I underestimated. He impressed me with some of the adjustments (which I would figure to be the toughest thing to nail down in a transition from running back to wide receiver) he made during this previous game, plus he\'s got the speed. Big question is, can he catch the ball, consistently. Pathon is solid in every category mentioned above, but I wouldn\'t say he\'s great in any of them, except for he\'s not afraid of opposing defenses and he\'s got good speed. Stallworth could exceed Horn, but he has yet to do it. I hope he does it this year, cause he is the only player we have that has the abilities to take over for Horn this year. But look at the stats from last year. Horn had 3 times as many catches and TDs as Stallworth and nearly double the yards. I\'ll be kind and simply say that taking Stallworth over Horn is a stretch.
Brooks, Deuce, Boo/Henderson/Lewis, Conwell/Pathon, Horn, Stallworth all on the field at the same time. WOW!

What\'s that saying Rick Flair used to say?
\"To be the man, ya gotta beat the man.\" Joe is still the man. A lot of folks have a very short memory. Joe has been clutch so many times, in so many games. Sure, he had an off year by his standards. But, I can\'t define Joe Horn by last year. The man played injured a lot of the time. Joe shows up for work every day and he\'s going to give you everything he has. Until someone can step up and TAKE the number # 1 spot... Joe will continue to be the man and any talk otherwise is premature. |

What are we talking about here. There is no question that Horn is the man on this team and would be on about 27 other teams. Who catches more third down balls than Horn? Look at the Houston game last season. If I remember correctly no other reciever caught a pass in the first half. Horn is money. He dropped some balls last season yes, but all recievers do. He is the second best weapon on this team. Stallworth hasnt proved that he can stay healthy yet. Pathon is a 3rd reciever at best. Henderson its to early to say anything about him this season. Horn is a top 10 reciever in this league and easily the best reciever in the NFC south. I can only think of a couple of recievers in the NFC I would take over Horn. (Moss, Holt,Owens) maybe I missed someone. You can say what you want to about him, but until someone else proves otherwise there should be no argument here.

i find it absolutely hilarious that AB can throw a few bad passes or fumble and we are talking about replacing him with guys that have never even been starters, but horn has an off year followed by a pretty ugly looking preseason (pathon looked better than joe in the chigaco game as far as i\'m concerned) and the mere mention that maybe he\'s over the hill is considered ludacris
AB has put up huge numbers every year but you guys find flaws, horn didn\'t put up the numbers last year and was a distraction followed up by no signs of improvement this preseason but you guys stand by him you guys need to take off the blinders |

i think horn is on the downside of his career, which is understandable given his age... stallworth... loads of talent and potential that seems to not be able to put it all together, lot of drops on easy balls last night... boo williams, still has to learn some stuff, but becoming very solid and dependable... pathon has looked very good and fluid this preseason, a very pleasant and needed surprise... henderson, the best wr this preseason by far, however, all the great plays are against 2nd and 3rd team defenses, which he may do the same thing vs. 1st team defenses but we wouldn\'t know, and gardner, just cut him already, i\'ve seen better hands on a clock.

As far as taking off the blinders I hope you are not referring to me. I havent been in here bashing brooks at all. Im simply saying that Horn has proven year in and year out since he came to New Orleans that he is a money reciever. There is nothing he hasnt done for this team. Horn is still a top reciever in this league.
