this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; They not even trying, no contesting of the WRs and Mauling them, no head hunting, nothing. Quite sad....

The falcons are much more physical than we are ... We have to have all the delicate things go right for our machine to work , not so much when you have an explosive offense and a fist fight type defense , I know lofton is burning

Let's go San Fran! Beat the Falcons and lose in the Superbowl!

Damn. The Niners have been very stubborn with Akers this year. Even if they can pull it out against the Falcons, how could they feel confident with him possibly playing in the biggest game of their careers?

Atlanta just doesn't have the mental fortitude. How do you blow huge leads two weeks in a row?

I dunno really, but most of the Falcons success is they play good football the first quarter or 2 and then go stale, its as if the coaching staff has only game planned for half the game, sadly they have been like this for years since Mike Smith took over, nothing changed when they added new OC and DC either.

They don't do well with half-time adjustments...

I still don't know really how the 49ers managed that with DBs playing that bad.

And that, my friend, are the Falcons & Matty 'can't win the big one' in a nutshell. You can have all the little witty 'leadership' sayings you want, aka Ryan, you can celebrate every stupid, good play & score you make on the field, you can whine about 'lack of respect' & throw out regular season stats all day long ... but at the end of the day, you gotta' have focus, determination & guts.

I think I even saw a tear rolling down Ryan's cheek as he stood on the sideline, watching yet another playoff game slip from his grasp. It was a fitting end to all the hype and fraud that was the Atlanta Falcons and Matt Ryan.

"Regular Season Champs, woohoo!"
