I hearing conflicting things about what we need. Some saying that drafting a NT and OLB will be the main aims, others that we are ok at NT.From what I know of Bunkley he played NT for the Broncos and Hicks could be a long term option at the position.
I still think we may be forced into replacing Bushrod in the first round and go defence after that.
Ogletree looks really interesting option in the first if we can re-sign Bushrod.
Will the change to 3-4 be a lifeline for Ellis?,not saying I want him here but I didn't see him in college so not sure wether he played 3-4/4-3.

I like the change.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Are you sure your not mixing him up with Jarvis Jones the OLB that your talking about?
He has Spinal Stenosis, can't find anything on Ogletree back issues

NE has been trying to address this issue year in and year out over the past few years

In pass defense they are as the article pointed out "just stick with their man", which has been an issue its self, will require read and react skills that i have seen little of against the run. If a runner gets pass the corner containment he will ripe of a nice run. Safeties are not playing to support the CB as they do in 43. Run support is a bigger issue due to the fact the 34 olb are almost always crashing the corners in containment

While tackling is not pointed out in the basic idea of the 34 when it comes to the finer points of the 34 it is right there at top. the secondary players are on there own most of the time and when they screw up it hurts big time.

seattle has the type of CB play we need out of our CB. To be honest the secondary hitting does not scare anyone

White is the best hitting corner on the team. that is the type of play you need out of your corners in 34. He reacts quickly and goes in for the tackle. He sticks the runner and tackles. Thats what you need out of CB

But that doesn't have much to do with the front 7 alignment as much as it does to every secondary, whether it be man or zone.

I do agree, they do need to tackle better. But that was the same problem in our 4-3.

Re: Saints to a 3-4???

All the offseason OTA which is where players are supposed to hone and perfect their craft are gone because of the CBA...

Not only do I expect the quality of the game to stagnate or even decline, I expect injuries to rise because of the lack of skills and discipline...

The tackling has gone downhill since the SB year .. it's time for a turnaround in that category.

No way, he doesn't suit the NT or the DE spots in the 3-4 alignment both from a skill-set and physical trait point of view, not to mention that he sucks as a player overall.
