Re: I guess I'll start.... DC coaching search

For Mangini, it's certainly not a bad idea to get his foot back in the door in a low pressure situation. He wasn't going to become a HC again anytime soon... getting his feet back in the pool and helping the Saints become a better unit could certainly lead to a DC gig in the near future. Win win for both parties.

I could definitely dig this.

Schefter: Saints may be looking at Eric Mangini and Romeo Crennel for DC

January 25, 2013:Two defensive coaching candidates the Saints will consider adding to staff include Eric Mangini and Romeo Crennel, per league sources. It’s even possible the two could go together to New Orleans with one serving as defensive coordinator, sources said. When reached Friday about this possibility, Mangini said he has not been contacted by anybody from the Saints about any position. Mangini and Crennel worked on the same Patriots coaching staff that won three Super Bowls in New England. Saints have told people they plan to proceed with their defensive coordinator search slowly and there’s no rush to fill the position.

The stats don't lie, the patriots won 3 Super Bowls with crennel running the D and mangini coaching the DB's

I'd Love this move
I'm already excited that we are switching to a 3-4 on D, maybe our D will be exciting to watch again

Crennel is possible and would be awesome. I don't see the Mangenius leaving his cushy ESPN gig for any job that isn't a HC.

Source confirms Crennel is on the Saints’ wish list

Sometimes, when something makes plenty of sense, it can make too much sense to happen.

In New Orleans, that may not be the case.

As Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported, former Browns and Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel is on the list to become the team’s next defensive coordinator. Though Schefter reported that former Browns and Jets coach Eric Mangini also is under consideration, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Crennel is higher on the wish list than Mangini.

Here’s why Crennel makes a lot of sense. Apart from the fact that the Patriots haven’t won a Super Bowl since Crennel left, coach Sean Payton can trust Crennel not to do the kind of stuff that Gregg Williams did.

Just Say No to Mangini, he was the one that told the NFL about Spygate. After this last season we don't need another rat after they get fired
