I agree with WhoDAT. Brooks is more talented all around, but as for who might be the better QB to run this team... I think Jake would be better cause he is smarter and makes less stupid mistakes. I know he hasn\'t played much and its hard for you to make a decision based on what we have seen, but in the games where Jake has played can you tell me ONE just ONE bad decision he has made? Or how about a play where he hurt the team? He hasnt made one... Brooks makes more than one a game. Whether he drops back 15 yards, doesnt throw it away and takes a sack, tries to force a ball (not always intercepted thank god), doesn\'t run to pick up valuable yards, and laughing when he makes a bad play! I think Brooks is filled with talent, but until he decides to grow up and try to use all of his talent to help a team win he will always make mistakes. He is forcing himself into being a pocket passer which he is not. He is a scrambler who doesnt scramble.
A West Coast Offense is not meant for a guy that can throw it 70 yards but only can hit a guy who is wide open. Its meant for a guy who can read the D and make decisions and put it on the money on a short route or a long route. Look at SF Joe Montana, Steve young, Jeff Garcia none of them have great arms but they are smart and accurate. AB might be very accurate, but I think he relies too much on his arm strength. Yes we know he can throw hard but on a 5 yard crossing route or a screen pass he doesnt have to try and throw it through Deuce or Sloan. Which is why they dont catch as many passes. He has one type of pass bullet. He needs to learn tocuh. Jake on the other hand doesnt have a tremendous bullet, but he had incredible touch and accuracy. Thats why he has 1 incomplete pass besides that Hail Mary on the year. And that incomplete pass hit Horn in the shoulder. Not to mention Jake came into the game cold. They told him to warm up Aaron hurt his arm so he goes to start warming up and we recovered a fumble and he had to run on not yet warm. He was a half a second late and that threw off the pass. Jake might not have all the talent that Brooks has, but he has leadership, good decision making, a strong enough arm, and great accuracy. This is not a post calling for AB\'s head, but I think you Brooks lovers need to realize that he isnt that much better than Jake talent wise, and as for the system we run I think Jake would be better at QB. I think the coaches have talent playing before skills. You want your most talented players on the field true, but sometymes your best talent isnt the best football players. Instincts, awareness, leadership are things you cant teach either you have it or you dont. You guys can decide for yourself who you think has it and who you think doesnt. |
