Lance's 2-point conversion was boring? What game were you watching? I think that the fact that a small town franchise known for losing more than winning and the fact that it was a rebuilding city blown up by a storm, should be considered a top ten Superbowl on principle alone. Homer or not. This team wins and does more than collect a trophy. It energizes a region and fans all over the world. |

Re: Saints SB Not Ranked Among Top Ten All Time
I wouldn't call it boring but its not the most exciting one either. i could have been on that list but I have no problem with it not being on there either.

Re: Saints SB Not Ranked Among Top Ten All Time
I really don't remember much from the first two SuperBowls, but I remember those Packer teams of the late '60s and something about most the SBs following.
When I think of all these SuperBowls, only one or two really stand out and I would be hard pressed to compile a Top Ten list. But what I do remember from the SB XLIV is that it was the Saints first appearance after being the perennial doormats of the NFL, Brees' passing, the onside kick and the inspiring fact that it was so soon after Katrina. I agree with iceshack, that alone should put it in the Top Ten, or at least tie it with SB III, which was considered in the Top Ten because of similiar, inspirational off field stuff, ie Namath's guarantee. |

Re: Saints SB Not Ranked Among Top Ten All Time
While our Super Bowl was a nail-biter for us, from a national standpoint it wasn't. They probably lost half their audience after the Tracy Porter pick-six. When a team needs a last minute TD and THEN successful onsides kick and THEN still need another last second TD just to tie the game, it's just not considered that close of a game.

Well we all know SB44 ranks #1 for us, and that is all that really matters.
