Re: How does this look??

Hicks is too athletic to waste at NT; he'd be one hell of a DE though

I didn't expect Jones to be there, but very good players start to fall when GMs try to outthink the room. He might be there and he's a better player than Mingo.

Re: How does this look??

LDE- Cameron Jordan
NT- Broderick Bunkley
RDE- Akiem Hicks

OLB- Martez Wilson
ILB- Curtis Lofton
ILB- David Hawthorne
OLB- First round draft pick/Junior Gallette

For the most part I think all of our front seven starters are already on the roster. We just need to land that stud rush linebacker in the first round... other than that, we're really lacking depth but that's not gonna be too hard to address with later round draft picks and cheap free agents.

In order to have an impact front 7 that line-up is just not going to make it - without a miracle of some sorts happening.

They definitely need a stud RDE, because even though I do believe that Hicks has the physical traits to be an impact RDE, he needs to time to become that. Which is why I'd like to see him share snaps with either a veteran or a starter-ready draft pick this coming season. Also, Galette isn't going to cut it at the other OLB position, since he really doesn't have the coverage skills needed nor do I think that lateral movement is his best strength, which is something he'd have to do a whole lot more as an OLB than he did as a 4-3 DE. I'm leaning towards hoping Galette isn't re-signed, because I really don't think he fits any of the front 7 positions in a 3-4 base, and I'd like to give that roster spot to either a productive veteran or a younger developmental project, who could actually become a weapon in the future. I think Tom Johnson can definitely take some snaps if needed behind Jordan as the LDE, and he has only a $800K cap hit if I remember correctly, so he'll provide some very affordable depth behind Cameron Jordan.

DE, OLB, and NT are all positions that need to be addressed either through FA or the draft. I would love for them to get Dion Jordan with the 1st rounder, because he could take some snaps as the RDE, but also switch back to the other OLB position - because he has the skills to cover receivers in the slot - to bring in Hicks on the field in some packages or rotate all together with Hicks as the RDE.

Re: How does this look??

Agreed about Gallette, that's why I slotted our first round pick there... I listed Gallette only because of the pass rush potential but of course he's not experienced in coverage so who knows what becomes of him. The rest doesn't seem too far off.
