Yea it worked for Rodgers, but Rodgers was a better QB coming into the NFL and was first round talent. Chase is going to be too old himself to take over when Brees finally hangs them up. If Brees goes down we are screwed anyway no matter who is backing him up, so we might as well just put any warm body back there and draft a QB in a year or two. Im sure as hell not wanting to give Chase a raise, or even market value in a contract when we can probably pick up another backup that is just as serviceable cheaper.
I'm sure your set of data is complete for this assessment. Having the opportunity to throw 9 passes in 3 years and taking about 30 non v-formation snaps is usually the maximum for evaluative purposes. Frankly, he should have been cut two years ago.
