WHO IS AVAILABLE TO COACH THE SAINTS DEFENSE!!!

Venturi needs to go simple period - end of story! The middle of our defense is really week. The lost of Glover was really the biggest lost of the offseason. What ever way Hand angle him self the opposing runing back goes up his back side and Clemmons is nowhere to be found. He is never at the point of attack on running plays. The middle of the field is his and he is never home. Hodges react time is slow making him ineffective at times. Sammy Knight blew that last touchdown to Moss. That's straight up our guts people!. The problem is SCHEME! Coaches are responsible for that, we play the same scheme every game and the staff still hasn't figured it out. Venturi is loyal but lets be real hear. 20 points a game this whole season now suddenly the Bengals looks like a juggernaut. DCordinator has to go we needs a refreshing approach to this. Clemmons the bottom line is "YOU MAKE EVERY LINEBACKER WHO WORE THE # 56 LOOK BAD - TAKE IT OFF AND CHANGE YOUR NUMBER" (no need to list the 56's of the NFL). Our D used to be the pride of the Saints and actually won games for the Saints.

WHO IS AVAILABLE TO COACH THE SAINTS DEFENSE!!!

This post is libel to draw some rebuttal but here we go . I am sure there are those that can find the exceptions to the rules , but to me those are exceptions and until proven otherwise generally not a great idea .

The Saints over the past few years have been coached by coaches out of position . Here is what I mean .

Ditka Era :

Abramowitz is the Offensive coordinator , former special teams coach . What makes a special team coach capable of running an offense ?? That proved to be a brain fart .

Haslett era

Mc Carthy - never been anything but a quarterbacks coach . Now in New Orleans the Offensive coordinator .
Riley - former offensive coordinator . Now in New Orleans the defensive secondary coach .
Venturi - a little of everything . Now in New Orleans the defensive head coach .

Coverage problems , the offense stalls and there are huge holes in the defense , I wonder why ????

The Saints need to stop being the testing grounds for unproven coaches and get some coaches that know the position they are coaching . I am sure there are plenty of college coaches that know their coaching positions and would love a shot in the NFL.

08, I don\'t agree with you a lot but on this one you\'re right. Coaches don\'t take near the flak they should about things. Not just this team, but others too.

The only thing more baffling then how they get into these positions , is the apparent loyalty that follows in some degree .

I will never understand what made Ditka defend Abramowitz to the degree he did . He basically made the statement if Abramowitz goes I go . It was clearly obvious Abramowitz was in well over his head .

For defensive coordinator , I say take the team that allowed the least points with the worst talent in the NCAA and he is the man I want ....

Not sure on the online coaching application , but you could get one the way Abramowitz probably got his , the inside of a cracker jack box ..........

That is the upper coaching management , it scares me to think of the lower level coaches , one that comes to mind is Ditka hired Harold Jackson , former Rams receiver . Could you imagine that interview ,\" Alright Harold I see you have caught a few balls in the NFL , that qualifys you , you are our receivers coach .\"

The one coach that needs to be a defense coordinator in the NFL is Carl Torbush, the former Louisiana Tech, North Carolina, (coach and d-coordinator) and now the Crimson Tide defensive coordinator. He can really coach defense, but his head coaching skills leave something to be desired. If there is anybody that has some pull out there with the Saints coaching staff, please let them know to get Torbush. Another person is the defensive back of Oklahoma. This guy has some crazy coverages that are designed ot confuse many quarterbacks (Remember the Florida State game a couple of years ago). Also, I hope we get a chance to get E. J. Henderson from Maryland because his is a total linebacker who can play all 3 positions. He is a headhunter that loves contact, and he also seems to know the game. :P :P :casstet:
