Game is Blacked Out!!!

The blackout covers everywhere within a 100 mile radius of New Orleans. That includes Baton Rouge and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.I live in Hattiesburg MS and if we had a local Fox affiliate we could still see the game. Our Fox affiliate is located in Gulfport MS so I would be s**t out of luck.Sometimes when the Saints play AFC teams,CBS carries the telecast. Our CBS affiliate is located here in town so we would still get those broadcast. If we get satelite and get NFL Sunday Ticket, our local provider is located on the coast also. This means that even with NFL Sunday Ticket you still can\'t watch the game because your provider is located within 100 miles of New Orleans. The NFL implemented this rule to give each NFL franchise the advantage when it comes to marketing tickets for home games. In the past, the Saints Marketing Dept. has been able to dump tickets into the laps of local businesses such as the local casinos and auto dealerships at the last minute. Then the local businesses would give the tickets away to promote business for themselves. This would ensure New Orleans of a home game sellout each week there by lifting a local blackout. However now it seems local businesses aren\'t showing good returns on their ticket promos,so they don\'t want to do it anymore. The Saints Marketing Dept. has tried for about 3 weeks to get local businesses involved ,but got no response. If they have to depend on local fans to buy all of their tickets, they never will sellout a game except the Atlanta game.If the Saints can get off to a fast start,it should help the situation out a little.as for right now the fans and local businesses are in a wait and see mode. They don\'t want to invest a bundle of money into tickets just to watch the Saints lose.

Anyway I saved myself from having to worry about all of that.I spent $1052.00 for a pair of season tickets.They\'re pretty good seats.They\'re upper level endzone seats.I\'ve had the same seats for three years.I\'m thinking about upgrading them next year.I figure if your going to drive 100 miles 8 times a year to watch the boys play you might as well make it worth the drive.

See yall at the dome on sunday !
