this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Surprised Coleman was listed ahead of Akiem Nicks, really got disappointed with Galette opposite Will Smith; then I looked on offense and saw Marques Colston at the bottom of the depth chart......

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
Running Back, if Thomas continues to have one oof those lingering injuries, Ingram may win the job by default...
Throw Chase Thomas, Eric Martin and Rufus Johnson to the fire - either they can play or not - and we find out now... Those Smith and Harper contracts really suck b@lls... |

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
Three positions watching in the Houston game...
Inside Linebacker: Lofton is in; Hawthorne & Humber can solidify their positions; Herring has size, experience; Chamberlain, proven special teamer, has to demonstrate he can make plays from scrimmage; Reddick and Shipman will have to show, despite inexperience, the talent and impact is close to Humber, Herring, Chamberlain - making it a financial decision... Defensive Line: Jordan, Hicks, Bunkley, Jenkins are in; Walker and Foster needs that third game to punch their tickets; Johnson being injured is gonna cost him; would rather see Will Smith moved as a reserve DE until his contract expires... Defensive Back: Lewis, Greer, Vaccaro, Jenkins are in: Harper has not looked good, but, like Smith, is a bad contract the team is stuck; Bush should be safe, in fact, he outplayed Jenkins and Harper at the end of last season; Abdul-Quddus is having a non-eventful training camp which can be dangerous for a reserve, but, like Bush, he outplayed the starting safeties at the end of last season; Nelson can't seem to get the reps to develop; like Jim Leonhard, despite being undersized, and wish he could push Harper and his dead contract away as well as tutor, guide young Vaccaro... Didn't mention Outside Linebacker because I don't see the Healthy talent level at the position we need and puzzled why the self-proclaimed genius Rob Ryan couldn't find a way to make Chase Thomas fit; not confident as others in Junior Galette; waiting to see if Martez Wilson can play three downs; would love to see Eric Martin play with the ones (as I wanted to see with Chase Thomas); and am amazed that the Saints are pounding Square Peg Smith into the round hole at OLB; Rufus Johnson seems too big to play OLB... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: Saints Depth Chart 2013
Realizing that BOTH of the Ryan guys that were signed via Free Agency will not be with this team, at least not for this season...
Looking at what we have, I liked what we had more that what we signed, not that those guys are bad players - just liked Hicks and Wilson more... |
