More bad news on the frustration front. The next 4 weeks are a no-win situation.

San Fran: If we win, so what. They were expected to be one 5-6 of the worst teams in the league this year. If we lose man all hell will break loose.

at St Louis: If we win so what. We should win with all the injuries that team has endured. Even though its been beat to death here that injuries are no excuse I'm sure we'll here about them a lot if we beat the Rams. If we lose, it'll be like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

at Arizona. If we win so what! The worst team in the league was supposed to be either San Diego or Zona.
If we lose the bags will come out in full force.

Tampa Bay: If we win we should get a little respect but probably won't. We'll hear how we just have their number.
If we lose more than one of these 4 games we'll be looking at 6-10.

Which might actually be a blessing in disguise if you understand where I'm coming from.

If we win all 4? Then maybe we over-reacted about this game, like most Pats fans did last year when they were absolutely pummelled in their 1st two games.

If we win all four games all we\'ll have done is beat two lousy teams and two mediocre teams. That\'ll help the record, but the reality will be that a trip to the playoffs would be wasted time unless that sparks something in these guys.

Just like after last year\'s loss to Seattle, we\'ll bounce back against a bad team, but it wont look good or be easy. Then the team will be riding high on the victory and lose to the Rams. It\'ll be a toss up against the Bucs.

2-2 at best by then.

Probably right Scotty, but after what I saw yesterday would 2-2 be all that bad?
I might take that right now.

2-2 would be great. I want to see that we do have some talent on the team that can overcome the ineptitude of the coaches. Remember, Seattle is a good team. If we can beat some mediocre to good teams, I\'ll feel better about the players.

All I ask is that Haslet brings a team out the rest of the season that makes me look like an idiot for being down on him today. PLEASE.

Not likely though, huh?

i dont see it scottyro. i mean i thought i really did that all the stuff we heard about as far as discipline in the locker room and all that was going to be the difference. but it wasnt. i pray for it too. that were all wrong but i just dont see it. were unprepared. we make mental mistakes all the time. tell me that when we have a good play ur not checking the top of the screen for the yellow word flag. as soon as were driving arent u waiting for the penalty that is going to kill the drive. or the turn over. ur waiting for us to kill ourselves. i mean good teams that win dont do that. u dont see philly doing that. u dont see seattle doing it. u dont see indy or new england or kc. u cant win doing that crap. n it has been every year hes been here. u cant tell me thats not his fault. how cant it be. god im glad i took off today. thank the lord i didnt have to got o work today. if we had played well and loss at the end i could deal with that. its just that it was another frigan debacle

Your team stinks

It doesn\'t matter what you do in the first couple of weeks, the only goal is to stay in contention for the first couple of weeks. Right around week 10 or 11 is when you want to see your team making a push. Right now its win what you can how ever you can do it and you will get a better idea of the team by their push right around week 11.

but chuck see im not worried that we lost the game. i wouldnt even be worried if we lost 50-10. the problem is were doing the same things we have the last couple of years. exactly the same. so its not the matter of one bad game its the idea of how it was like every game the last couple of years. u dont know that?
believe i hope im wrong n we never see it again. history just doesnt seem to be in my favor.

snip snip

Success in the NFL is somewhat formulaic:

1) Beat all the teams you\'re supposed to beat.

2) Steal a couple from teams that you\'re not suppsed to beat.

3) Stay relatively healthy.

4) Get stronger as the season progresses.

So in my mind winning the next 4 fits into point #1 here. We\'re supposed to beat them, so beat them. You have to have those games to shore up the record.

Frankly it really doesn\'t matter what the national media thinks of the Saints right now. It\'ll only matter in early December in the thick of the division run. If we\'ve taken care of #1 and are getting stronger, and possibly stolen two from Denver, KC or Minnesota, then the only discussion about Seattle will be if we face them in the playoffs.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Exactly. Problem is this has been the achilles heel of this team longer than anything else. When they are a competitve team they play down to the level of competition 90% of the time. :casstet:

I don\'t see a change in sight, but still hold out hope...
