Most of these guys have played some version of a 3-4 nearly every year they've been in the league.
Spags ran an occasional 3-4 set and Williams ran a ton of it. I think Payton noticed our best athletes played their best ball when we were in 3-4 sets, so it was probably a pretty easy decision to convert to the 3-4 as our base. I'd imagine we'll still run some 4-3 this year too. I can't help but wonder if signing/drafting players like Galette, Wilson, Bunkley, Hicks, Jordan were part of the plan to eventually convert to a 3-4 all along. |
