this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I've read a lot of projections where he was pegged to be a 4 to 5th round pick. Hopefully he becomes one of our next hidden gems via UDFA....

Ray Shipman, LB, Central Florida
Height: 6032 Weight: 242 Arm Length: Hand Size: 40 time: 4.69 20: 2.72 10:1.62 SS 4.40 3 Cone:7.06 Vert: 35 1/2 Broad: 9' 09" Bench: 16 Ray Shipman is what teams want out of a Line Backer. At 6'5 245 lbs he has the perfect size combined with incredible athleticism from his days as Florida's "Mr. Basketball" and his stint on the UF Basketball team. Draft Zone Spotlight: Ray Shipman, LB, University of Central Florida Ray Shipman is a very special athlete, we are not talking about a four year starting linebacker who has all the talent in the world. He was voted onto the C-USA All-Academic Team, and started 12 games on the season, amassing 91 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss. What makes this more special is the fact that he was a point guard coming out of school for the Florida Gators. Shipman became a strong linebacker for the UCF Knights after spending two years on the Gators Basketball team. He made the transition seem fairly easy. This kid is athletic and at 6’5, 240 pounds this kid is a gamer ladies and gentlemen. Draft Zone Spotlight: Ray Shipman, LB, University of Central Florida » NFL Draft Zone now he sounds like he maybe a nice addition |

Re: UDFA SIGNINGS
According to Sean:
“What we would typically do, right now in the draft room there would be the depth chart, offensively and defensively with the current roster, current draft picks, and there would be a series of magnets and then we would take grey or black magnets that represented unnamed players and stack them behind certain positions. The tight end right now might have one or two magnets behind them, the receiver may have one, there might be a few magnets inside guard, maybe one at right tackle, running back there may be one, quarterback one, " We should look for an RB and some more OL fellas coming down the pike. Should we make a poll on which part of the country the RB comes from? |

Re: UDFA SIGNINGS
Bills signed Tennessee Tech WR Da'Rick Rogers.
Rogers (6-3, 217) closed out his college career at Tennessee Tech after racking up a 67/1,040/15.5/9 line as a sophomore. Rogers was dismissed from Tennessee for "mutiple" substance-abuse violations, and since admitted to three failed drug tests. At the Combine, Rogers ran a 4.52 forty and his 11-foot broad jump was second longest among receivers. As a 20-year-old, Rogers dominated the SEC to the extent that he might have been a first-rounder if not for off-field concerns. Character concerns were certainly the main reason Rogers went undrafted, but he could turn into a Week 1 starter for the Bills if he keeps his head on straight. Browns signed LSU OT Chris Faulk. Faulk (6-5, 331) made just 15 career starts at LSU before a torn right ACL and MCL ended his junior season after one game. He required separate surgeries for each knee ligament, but declared for the draft anyway. A possible late first-rounder before the injuries, Faulk's best NFL position is likely right tackle. When healthy, he flashes an aggressive mean streak in the run game. He'll compete for a swing tackle role with the Browns if he proves healthy. via rotoworld I really really wanted these two guys. |
