For comparison:
Bucs: $19 million under Panthers: $5.28 million under Saints: $3.1 million under Falcons: $2.18 million under So the Bucs have plenty of room and the Panthers are square. Saints are pretty close and probably should be okay with maybe a restructure or two. Falcons need to do a little work. NFC South salary-cap check - NFC South Blog - ESPN |

I'm thinkin' Brees is the sleeper restructurer (yes, new word) should someone fantastic come our way.

They also need some cap room going into the season, so that they can bring in someone if they face lots of injuries on a specific position.

Loomis likes to keep a little nest egg for when the season starts and has room to sign players if some one goes down.
I agree with Guido that 1.5 mill should sign the rookies. This leaves him room to start signing players when the cuts start coming. We will be monitoring the waiver wire closely. I think we'll be alright. Still, I don't anticipate touching Drews contract this year. We're in it too deep. |
