He had good games against UCLA, Cal, Oregon State, Arizona, USC, and Notre Dame last year; not exactly Ivy leaguers...

Teo had good games against a lot of overrated teams too.

Doesn't mean anything, because you haven't seen either of them play in the NFL...

I was referring to the Ivy league comment...

Remember Johnathan Sullivan played in the best conference in college too...

but Jones will get the benefit of the doubt because of where he played, and he deserves to. Jones dominated in the sec, Thomas didn't dominate period. He was just good.

Re: More on Chase Thomas

He dropped because in the year 2013, now, NFL scouts still haven't figured out the difference between workout speed, and game speed.

They also haven't figured out that speed is only part of being a good player.

Anyone remember a kid named Sedrick Hodge? Yeah, he was a LB from UNC who ran a 4.49. So the Saints drafted him... and he stunk. Production is what should matter, and to not draft this guy at all was pathetic on the part of all teams. I'm just glad we lucked out and got him as an UDFA.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Thomas being a finalist for Defensive player of the year was a fluke because he went against lesser competition?

And what's it matter, Thomas is on our team, Jones is not...

Chase Thomas actually played at Stanford which is Pac 12, not SEC, but not too shabby...

He had a tremendous game against a surging Notre Dame last season...

He's matched up and showed up against some pretty good talent since he was a Freshman which includes playing USC, Oregon among others...

And don't be surprised if he isn't one of your starting linebackers when going into the post-season...

I'm stuck on Thomases right now as it's one of my names too. What was Zac Thomas' times in the 40, etc.?

Re: More on Chase Thomas

I see the makings of a very important POLL here: "How many times will Chase Thomas be called Chase Daniel?" "Will there be any negative effect?" "Will he be forced to wear #10 ala LB Brad Van Pelt?

I think the success of the upcoming season depends on the outcome of this poll!!!!

I heard the NFL Network was going to do one of those rookie shows with this theme!!
