BigBull45, This organization has never been committed to winning. There previous owner once said when asked why would not spend the money that it took to bring a winning team to New Orleans said,\"Why should I spend money on this team when I can fill the Superdome with a losing team\". When Tom Benson bought him out things started to change. But now I question if Benson is really committed to winning or not. And if he is then he knows nothing about the game of football or he would have done something years ago. The worst thing to happen to this team is when Jim Finks passed away. :weepy:

I think the Saints are trying to get some consistancy with the organization and the Coaching staff. Although I don\'t agree that we are a powerhouse and I wish we had a better coach, I think (and I know people are going to go bonkers over this) I think that the investment in time on Brook is paying off. I think he really is developing into a great QB. In the first 2 games, he was not the problem, and it\'s the opposite, he saved our butts yesterday.
I just don\'t think Brooks is the problem. Deuce has shown me nothing this season at all but some fumbles, and Brook ranks above him for now in my mind. Our backup RB was knifing through holes better than Duece yesterday. But I think the organization is making a statement that they believe we have a good staff and great players and in time it will bring a Superbowl. Only time will tell. |

Halo, I agree with everything you said about Brooks. He is going to be a great QB in this league. And I agree to a point about the organization. I think they are making more of and effort than they have in the past. And next I believe that this team could be a powerhouse. But not with the coaching staff they have at this present time. I\'ve seen them out coached too many times. But the Saints have more talent on offense than i\'ve ever seen them have. They just need someone who can direct them and bring out there talent so they can move up to the next level. I don\'t think this present coaching staff is capiable of taking this team to that level. And as for Deuce, I think he is just losing faith in this said coaching staff and thinks that they are not committed to winning a SuperBowl like his is.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Although we are only through two games, one of which saw Deuce injured very early on... however, Brooks\' play yesterday was the reason we won. I thought he was rusty against Seattle, but Deuce didn\'t look great either.
I think Deuce is having a hard time in this new system. Why? I don\'t know - but one has to question the change. It seems typical Haslett though. You\'ve got a 1600 yard Pro Bowl back who is about the only thing working on your offense. What do you do? You save next to nothing by allowing a great lead blocker and one hell of a leader at center to leave and change the base set. Now your 1600 yard stud looks iffy. I know a lot of people want to blame Deuce, but I\'m not so sure. It feels an awful lot like Haslett taking Joe Johnson and La\'Roi Glover for granted a few years ago... |
