Muncie was one of my favorites. I loved me some Lightning & Thunder.
I always believed that Hank Straham didn't get enough time to work the bugs out. Muncie ran hard like Ivory, but because of his long legs, he would get his ankles rolled every 5-6 weeks. I remember games where DBs would let themselves get blocked by receivers. Or just hit the deck late in the 3rd after taking all that punishment earlier in the game. I had those same black rimmed glasses behind the rack. Chuck was some kinda runner. R.I.P. |

Ahh , my dad used to call them the moochie heads. The team had some talent in nthe mid to late 1970's, but they had some guys with problems.
Good for Muncie that he turned his life around. Good ending. Better late than never. |

He was a favorite of mine back in the day, my favorite Saint's RB until Deuce came along. RIP Chuck.
