Yeah ... I saw the connection right off. The defense is gonna' be fun to watch boys, I'm telling ya' ... this guy has 'inspirational leadership' written all over him, .

GW's defense arguably made our offense more potent as well. Historically, Payton has had problems beating 3-4 defenses. Betcha Rob Ryan will help our offense.

I wasn't a big fan of the Rob Ryan hiring, but I hope he proves me wrong. I will gladly grill the crow burgers myself and wash them down with a fifth of Old Crow if he brings this defense back to being respectable.

Yes sir, as poorly as we played I actually felt we would somehow win that game at the end. Turnovers definitely did us in.

Sorry Riaton. In spite of five turnovers, it was still one stop for the win and all GW could do was dial up the same blitz he'd been calling for most of the game. The niners knew where each of our defensive players were gonna be better than our players did. Sometimes the D has to win one for the Gipper and they ended up dropping the ball more than the offense did that day -plus a few other games besides. I don't know about anyone else, but I sure felt the defense slipping into desperation in the last quarter of that season.

; Your story isn't over yet ;

GW lived by the sword and also died by it. I still would thank him for '09 in a heart-beat. To me it was a priceless moment in Saints history. I would like to have another and we will.

True,but Greg Williams did what he always does.we're just spoiled with our O bailing us out all the time....that time we weren't so lucky.

he has to sell me on the field not in pre game or post game.

his ability to adjust game plans in Oakland and Dallas during the game have been, well let see, to be polite, less than impressive. both teams had a history of getting chewed up and spit out in the second half. but here he only has to hold the lead and not surrender too many points. unlike the teams he was with in the past were the defenses were asked most of the time to win the games die to poor offensive play.

the dude has an easy job
