Gettin itchy

It's that time of year again and I can hardly believe it's finally here. Has this been the longest offseason ever? What I'm happiest about is that it's just a regular year. No scandals, hold outs, lock outs or suspensions or any other B.S., just plain old football.

I also like that everybody is writing us off as mediocre. Maybe they're just smarter than me but I think they're just too stupid to look past last year and realize that we still have the same offense that shattered about 10 records in '11. Yeah the defense sucked but there were a lot of extenuating circumstances that contributed to that.

And Coach is back. And I'm betting he's pissed off too. I'm also thinking that Rob Ryan is going to be a lot more fun to watch than the clown we had last year. I'd say the defense has to be better because it couldn't get any worse but I've been a Saints fan too long to say something like that. And hopefully we finally found somebody who can play safety.

One thing that has me worried is that the NFC has gotten really tough over the last two years. S.F, Seattle,G.B, N.Y. and Atlanta (excuse while I throw up in my mouth just a little bit) have really turned it on. Of course once the playoffs start you count the Falcons out.

So before I forget what I came here to say, I'm calling it. We go 11-5, take the South and get one of the byes. I'd like to say we take the #1 seed, and think we could, but that's going to be a tall order.

What do the rest of you think? None of this nambypamby "I'll wait to see how they look in pre-season" stuff. What do you think right now?

I pretty much agree with you on this. The NFC is going to be a tough nut to crack this year. I too feel that SP is pissed off. I hope that all the PC stuff he and others are saying to the cameras is just that, talk. I hope he is planning a take no prisoners stance behind closed doors. I hope he puts Drew's foot on the gas at the opening whistle and tells him not to take it off till the final whistle.

Wasn't as long as the past couple of years. Where everyday there was something new about the pay-for-performance or Brees hold-out or even the year before with the lockout.

Now that was horribly long...
