this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Could/should we pick him up on the cheap to add depth/competition to our OLBs? It couldn't hurt. He posted 10 sacks two seasons ago for the Patriots over 16 games with only one start....

I believe I've still got Paytons' number on speed dial...
Seriously though; we've got enough competition at the OLB spot right now I think... |

Re: Bills release Mark Anderson...
I like the competition that we have already, too, but I have legitimate concerns about counting on an aging Will Smith and some undrafted free agents behind Junior and Martez. I don't think it would hurt a thing to bring him in as a camp body and see if he still has something left in the tank.

Re: Bills release Mark Anderson...
From what I've seen he's a special package kind of player. He's not an everydown DE/OLB but can be used in certain packages. He's extremely up and down.
Reports suggest he's fully recovered from his knee injury. If we still had Butler I'd say no thanks, but now I think he might be worth a look. |

Will he look over here ... or is there something yet undisclosed that precipitated his release?

Re: Bills release Mark Anderson...
caution he had one good year here with the Pats but he has the entire defense to thank for the contract he got from the bills.
kick some tires and light some fire and take a look see but do not get overly excited by him. A solid player is all he is. no way was he worth the money he signed for. |
