Chase Daniel: The ‘Domecoming’

It’s almost here. Can you feel it? Have you waited long enough? Are you ready for tomorrow night? I hope so, because what else would you be looking forward to???

A not so forgotten piece of tomorrow’s spotlight will include Chase Daniel (no ‘s’ there proper to contrary belief). Daniel’s homecoming to the Big Easy will no doubt be a subtle headline in the grand scheme of things for the Chiefs-Saints showdown, and you can definitely expect to hear about this a few times during the broadcast.

Daniel was a Saint from 2008-2012, and was the ‘Padawan’ to ‘Jedi Master’ Brees. I highly recommend everyone read up on this article courtesy of The Kansas City Star. It just proves the type of class & character that Daniel has, and the great deal of respect that he points out for Drew Brees.

“He taught me how to eat, sleep and live like an NFL quarterback on and off the field,’’ Daniel said. “He taught me how to prepare, the small things it takes to keep your arm in shape during the season, how to read NFL defenses, a lot of things. I could go on and on. Being with him four years, it was like a big brother, little brother relationship. Very competitive but a good relationship.’’

We only wish the best for Daniel, and everyone in ’Who Dat Nation’ hated to see him go. Sadly, you can’t blame him. A Free Agent with a chance to return closer to his Mizzou Alma Mater? Then you couple that with a chance to actually start? One can only hope that he continues to evolve, and work well under Andy Reid. However, if Daniel turns into the next Jake Delhomme (and I mean the good things he did in Carolina), we may all puke.

I surely expect Daniel to have a nice, warm welcome or acknowledgement from the Dome. Why? Because that’s how we are (unless you are a few select former players I don’t have to reference here). When it’s all said and done, you’ll see Brees & Daniel meet up, and definitely Coach Payton too.

If you really want your mind blown, be sure to check this article on all of the Chiefs-Saints connections that exist for tomorrow’s game.

Loved seeing chase play for us and he was always a class act, however tomorrow is strictly business and if he gets extended game time I want our D to make him struggle and get after him

Wonder if he would have gone to the Chiefs he had known they were going to sign Alex Smith.

Re: Chase Daniel: The ‘Domecoming’

Chase got popped pretty good a couple times last night. Left the field looking pretty pissed off, but that may be because his o-line wasn't giving him much help also. Clearly 'no quarter' was given, I hope he didn't expect anything less
