I mean you will always have people say that teams will then fake injuries to get cap relief or some other such conspiracy but it seems fair to offer some sort of proportion back if only a gesture. Say for example, an NFL approved doctor with no team ties has to perform the diagnosis and if someone is truly out for a season then you get a percentage of their cap hit back. You could even only make that 20-30% which is then not a reason for sending down a massive player on purpose. Hmmmm. Food for thought. |

That's what I'm talking about, ACL injuries are out of control throughout the entire league, they need to remedy that ... don't know about the cap relief angle though, if the teams don't lose any value associated with that injury, they'll never move to investigate/eliminate the source of the injuries.

This will have the effect of forcing down wages, reducing the effect of any one player having a catastrophic impact on the financials, as well as having more players to rotate in, reducing fatigue, which is the biggest contributor to injuries (aside from questionable hits). |
