Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
We're never going to put him in the kind of role he needs to succeed. I want to love the dude but he needs 20 carries a game and Sean is not going to have PT and Sproles riding the bench.
Get a mid-round pick for him, promote Robinson to the roster and move on. |

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
Pretty hard to run when there's 3 ****ing defenders in the backfield. That whole Ingram to the giants thing was bs and the o-line playing poorly in THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON isn't going to make the team run out and trade him.

When Ingram got the hand-off he was met by 3 defenders 2 yards behind the LOS. When Thomas got the hand-off he was NOT met by 3 defenders 2 yards behind the LOS. It may not be the O-line's fault, but it isn't Ingram's. |

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
When Ingram goes in there is nothing to keep the defense honest and they crash hard after him. If we can see this I know Sean Payton can see this... May be setting up defenses for fakes to Ingram to open up something bigger. Sean Payton knows his tools and is brilliant, he also knows that the first few weeks of game tape will be watched over and over across the league.

The Falcons just went off of what they saw last year, which was when Ingram is in, it's a run. The coach's did nothing to change that way of thought. When PT is in there, they don't know if it's a run or pass. I thought the coaching staff finally understood this in the pre-season but apparently not. The more they only put Ingram in to run, the longer it's going to be before he is effective. |

I think Sean Payton can Fix it ... If we get out ahead of the Falcons like we should've the rest would've been running the clock down and wearing down their front as well.

Re: There May Be Mark Ingram to Giant Rumors
^ I see a lot of people say how any time Ingram is in the game, the other team knows its a run and stacks the box.
To some extent I believe that is true, but it is not the factor that a lot of people think. Deuce ran against 8-man boxes his entire career. PT routinely breaks tackles behind the LOS and turns negative plays into 5 and 6 yard runs. Yes, the offensive line is not great run blockers, and yes, we are predictable when Ingram is in there, but at some point you have to go with what works. PT and Sproles work. Ingram does not. |

Don't mean to promote another site or whatnot but this just about sums it up... Ingram 1.2 YPC on 9 attempts. - Page 7 - New Orleans Saints - Saintsreport.com - Message Boards |
