this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; They\'re gonna fight, why can\'t we? I guess we just have a fundamental difference of opinion, and I\'ll agree to disagree with you JKool because I respect everyone\'s opinion. But ultimately, IMO, the fans pay the salaries of the players ...

with you JKool because I respect everyone\'s opinion. But ultimately, IMO, the fans pay the salaries of the players and are now being asked to pay for a new stadium. You can\'t ask folks to do that, and expect them to be cheerfully optimistic, when the team consistantly plays poorly...ie: loosing to arguably the two worst teams in the NFL one right after the other. You want cheerful, supportive fans? WIN FOOTBALL GAMES!! It\'s that simple. We could take a loss to great team like Seattle when we see that our team gave their best effort. But don\'t expect the fans to blindly except this teams poor preformance without expressing some dissatisfaction. :bandhead: |

Nay Sayers Have No Heart
Interesting reply Luv.
I\'ll think about it, but here is my knee-jerk response: We don\'t talk about players having \"heart\" unless they face adversity. If everything were sunshiney all the time for a particular player, I don\'t think we\'d say he had any \"heart\". I do agree, though, that there is good reason to be peeved with the loses, the coaching, and the team (etc.). This is why I tried to say that giving up on them before they get going, calling them down before they\'ve even had the coin toss, and so on seems to be to be a lack of heart. Asking for improvement, analyzing trends, looking at stats and so on, even when they aren\'t so sunshiney, that isn\'t a lack of heart (which seems to be what you are doing - that is, I don\'t think you\'re a fan who lacks heart just because you are frustrated). |

Nay Sayers Have No Heart
Gator,
You\'ll note that I\'ve been participating in several other posts that have to do with the team. This was a question about the fans (so, I suppose, you\'re right that it is only \"indirectly\" related to football); I don\'t see a problem with discussing \"heart\" as it applies to fans of this team, though. Do you? [Edited on 10/10/2004 by JKool] |

fan\'s reward should be, if not a winning team, a team that shows improvement as the year progresses. And the players that show heart (ie: Horn, Duece, Lewis) catch a lot less flack from the fans than the half-hearted players. And we know who they are.
think this team has a lot of talent and they should be 4 and 1 right now. I refuse to blame the losses on one player or one coach. It\'s a team effort. |

Nay Sayers Have No Heart
Both games they beat the Bucs last year are the last times I can think of that they made my heart swell with pride, but I have kind of a s**ty memory.
