this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Gator, I wonder why you feel bad for us (assuming that I am included in this group you keep raking over the coals)? Does being wrong about our prospects make our losing hurt more? I guess I don\'t see it. ...

Does being wrong about our prospects make our losing hurt more? I guess I don\'t see it. I think it sucks when we lose, just like you do, and all of us are wrong now and then about everying from what \"it\" is to whether or not we\'re going to win 6, 7, 8, 9, or whathaveyou games this year. I\'m just not sure what you\'re getting at here? Though I do understand that you\'ve felt (and probably have been) personally attacked by other members of this board, I\'m not sure why this has lead to a jihad against anyone who is (perhaps unrealistically) optimistic. I, for one, not going to give up on this team going to the playoffs (even if it is starting to look like it won\'t happen) until they are mathematically eliminated. |

Well Haslett did say out secondary was just fine in the offseason. I guess letting a team with no real running game and a rookie and Brian Griese complete 77% of their passes on our secondary is \"just fine\". :realmad:

Hey Gator - since they won\'t give you a report, here\'s about what one would probably look like:
If you think this team is bad you just might have an AGENDA. It\'s pretty CLEAR that INJURIES have caused the problems this year. AB is the ONLY reason this team has won anything this year. Our O-line is terrible. Our D is terrible. Our WRs suck. Deuce has fumbled the ball 4 times this year (which coincidentally was not a problem last year when Brooks was doing it, but is this year when Deuce is). Just put AB and Haslett on the field and they\'ll be 13-3. |

Gator,
I\'m scared too. I don\'t like our odds too much. What do you think will be the keys to victory? Here are my guesses: 1. Get Duece the ball. He needs to have a 100 yard game. This way we won\'t have to sling the ball around, and we can keep their offense of the field. 2. Run Blocking. In order to get Duece down the field, we\'ll need to execute here. Also, we\'ll need to minimize holding penalties and play with more disipline than we\'ve seen. 3. Mike McKenzie. Undoubtedly, we\'ll have our hands full with Moss. Thomas couldn\'t cover him to save his life last time we met him. We need McKenzie to play that game and to have a BIG game (otherwise, we\'re going to see T-buck chasing WRs down field a lot). |

Again, the sunshine crowd is curiously absent after losing a game that should have/could have been won. I wonder what the official spin is going to be this week?

Who,
Now you\'re just being funny. I don\'t remember anyone saying anything like that. Brooks did not have the world\'s worst game today - a few of those babies were pretty darn catchable. Haz, on the other hand, must go now. (So, there is a sunshiner\'s take on this.) Duece looked pretty good except for the TD he gave up. Defense looks like shiznit right now, especially the secondary - which as I recall, Danno and I (among others) were complaining about A LOT during the offseason. |

PS - Gator, for the record, I think that the post you made above at 15:48 was a VERY classy post. Kudos.

By the way, I just can\'t see Haslett quitting. We\'ll need Benson to step in and try to fix this mess. |

If Haz gave up, he\'d just be admitting that he does not have the \"heart\" to lead this team. He\'ll need to be fired, since I think he has heart - that just isn\'t enough to get it done as H.C. here in N.O.

Here, I\'ll help you out Gator, you know what pisses me off the most? We need fans in the stands that voice their displeasure a lot more loudly in this coaching staff. We heard a few boos but overall the fans are the ones paying the prices for the tickets and filling Benson\'s pocket through thick and thin. But when it was needed all we could muster was a few scattered boos? Come on, we have the right, no, we have the OBLIGATION to boo these over-paid idiots right off the field and stop buying the tickets that put the luxury in Benson\'s lap and then I\'ll guarantee you he starts doing something about it. This team makes me sick. There is no joy in watching any football this year thanks to Hazbeen and Co. They owe us I don\'t care what spin you put on it.
