Double up both Graham and Sproles, look for Meachem or Stills over the top. Colston is so quiet you simply do not pay attention to the stats. 6 1000+ yard seasons. Brees/Colston is the most active QB/Receiver pair in TDs and completions in the league today and I believe now in the top 5 in NFL history. Colston would be a superstar on any other team. With 5000+ yards of passing and nearly 600 completions each season, there's more than enough balls for Brees to spread around. There's no need for a "Gimme the damn ball!" diva receiver on this squad. Why would you mess with an undefeated team with a top 5 offense? SFIAH |

Yes, what you are describing is a team with no salary cap...

Christ, it's like you people do nothing except look for stuff to complain about.

Not sure if this is a serious thread. I guess Mr. Lee is lobbying early for his son to be drafted first round?

Atlanta tried hard to find a Jimmy Graham, think they have about 4 other TE's over 6'6" but none have worked out. Believe me, teams want what we have not the other way around.

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
I'm not a fan of the #1 receiver philosophy. I also think it's misunderstood when people say this. It's great to have that on your team if you can find it but it's much better to have a safety blanket receiver than a Megatron type. I'd take the reliable always make the tough catch receiver than the freak of nature guy.
Fortunately we have both. Coltson always make big tough catches for this team and graham is the freak of nature throw it up into triple coverage guy. Plus we have a lot of interchangeable parts that can play each other's position. Imagine trying to gameplan defensively against all our weapons. Who do you key on? Who must you take away? |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
Is this a real thread?! C'mon, man... 37 receptions (tied 2nd), 593 yards (1st), & 6 TDs (tied 2nd). Jimmy is on pace to have one of the all time greatest receiver seasons...EVER! True #1 WR? We have the true #1 WR in the ENTIRE LEAGUE! What do you not understand about that?
Also, very rarely is Sproles a "check down". I'd say that a fair estimate would be that around 85% of the time that Brees passes to him the play was designed for him. That is NOT a "check down". It's a designed play. Big difference. Geez, Louise.... |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
Colston is our #1 receiver. Brees and him work so well together you'd have to be crazy to move Colston to a #2. And we spread the ball around ... PT and even Collins are getting targets now.
I think our #2 receiver situation is fine with Moore, Toon, Meach and Stills. Between these guys our receiver depth is impressive, and I think Toon and Stills will continue to improve. |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
I think this thread has ended its life. We have the best receiving options in the NFL not to mention the best overall receiver in Graham.
Like Patrick Peterson said, forget labels, Jimmy is a WR or closer to one than a TE. A WR, I don't care how good he is, if he's double covered he's not going to have a good day. Jimmy on the other hand, he makes catches with three bodies around him. Then, it takes two of them to bring him down if he wants to keep going. |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
Not saying we should pay one for all that money , but give him a real game breaker through the draft ... The rookie contract won't cost that much , what happens if Graham goes down ? Seriously he's a TE not a receiver
We're going to mess around and hurt him overusing him. Sammy Watkins out of Clemson , Chris outta Texas a&m somebody that threatens people ... If anything it would help Graham get open |
