this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Colston is our #1 receiver. Brees and him work so well together you'd have to be crazy to move Colston to a #2. And we spread the ball around ... PT and even Collins are getting targets now. I think ...

I think our #2 receiver situation is fine with Moore, Toon, Meach and Stills. Between these guys our receiver depth is impressive, and I think Toon and Stills will continue to improve. |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
I think this thread has ended its life. We have the best receiving options in the NFL not to mention the best overall receiver in Graham.
Like Patrick Peterson said, forget labels, Jimmy is a WR or closer to one than a TE. A WR, I don't care how good he is, if he's double covered he's not going to have a good day. Jimmy on the other hand, he makes catches with three bodies around him. Then, it takes two of them to bring him down if he wants to keep going. |

Re: We need a True No.1 receiver ...
Not saying we should pay one for all that money , but give him a real game breaker through the draft ... The rookie contract won't cost that much , what happens if Graham goes down ? Seriously he's a TE not a receiver
We're going to mess around and hurt him overusing him. Sammy Watkins out of Clemson , Chris outta Texas a&m somebody that threatens people ... If anything it would help Graham get open |

Colston is a tight end in a receivers spot ... Brees makes them that damn good ... Give him someone that makes Brees better

The biggest reason for the Saints' success is they don't bow to conventional thinking when it comes to personnel. Who decided that you *have* to have a true #1 receiver? In fact let's look at the teams right now that have a true #1: Atlanta (Julio) Detroit (CJ) Bears (Marshall) Cardinals (Fitz) Texans (Andre) Bengals (AJ) Cowboys (bryant) Giants (Cruz) Bucs (VJax) Are these offenses better than the Saints? I think you know the answer. |

Did you really just say that Graham is not a receiver, and Colston is a TE? LoL Hypocrite much? Craziness abounds! Hahaha Good luck convincing Sean and Drew that Jimmy is not a receiver.

I am happy with our receiving corps because we have no prima donnas and each receiver/back/tight-end knows his place and what he does for the TEAM. Case in point is the Dolphin game. Sproles tore them up early on so they thought they should cover him, then Jimmy Graham pops up with 4 catches for 100 yards so they go for him and Colston, who had been quiet up to then is 3 yards short of 100. No, let the other teams have their Megatrons and Jones's. Their Greens and their Fitzgeralds. Let us have a greater variety and do what we are doing because other teams are finding it hard to plan for all of us.
