LE Charles Grant has become a complete player. He's a force off the edge with his competitiveness. Grant, who has seven sacks in five games, is seeing a lot of one-on-one blocking because offenses can't double-team him and leave REs Darren Howard or Will Smith single-blocked on the quarterback's blind side.
SS Jay Bellamy is the team's best defensive playmaker. He is smart, tough and adept at forcing fumbles. Bellamy is better suited to play near the line of scrimmage because he has lost a step. SEE A DIFFERENT GAME: Uneasy snap exchanges between QB Aaron Brooks and C LeCharles Bentley have been a factor in the team's 14 false-start penalties. Because the Saints have trailed often and the run has faltered, they have been in many obvious passing situations. It's common for offensive tackles to time the quarterback's cadence with the snap so they quickly can get into their protection stances. But Bentley often has hesitated, resulting in LT Wayne Gandy and RT Victor Riley jumping too fast. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team?categoryId=67055 Funny how our team leader has not worked this out with his center .... ;) |

The article CLEARLY states:
Any chance will get to hear your take on how Brooks is responsible for Deuce\'s latest 2 fumbles? LOL |

Hard to argue with the clear plain language of that one. Brooks never had a problem with Fontenot. Whose idea was it to get rid of him and move an all-pro guard to center?? Oh yeah, that guy who in only 3 short months will be the FORMER Saints HC. I blame AB, Bentley, Haslett, and McCarthy for that one. How can you not have worked this problem out by WEEK 5!?!?!

Lets see......a snap starts each offensive play........in practice and games how many total snaps do you think they have had together?
Some days you just wish you had a little dose of Fontenot. |

Real simple
Brooks raise your hands . A little higher on the snap count and Bentley gets the point ....... Poor Saintfan , never understands there are ways too correct these problems all you have to find is someone willing too ..... |

I could stand corrected, but didn\'t AB suffer fumbles last year? Fontenot was around then.
I have little hope or expectations for AB...he is a loser. |

Brooks fumbling problems came after the snap if I remember correctly last year. The whole o-line seemed to paly much better w/Fontenot in there @ center. Another thing, quite a few people, mainly fans, have been trying to blame Deuce\'s fumbles on the ankle. He doesn\'t carry the ball with his foot does he? Playing Deuce not at 100% may have been a mistake, one of the MANY this coaching staff has been making!!

They drafted Bentley to play center. They have to get him in there at some point. I have no problem with Fontenot being released. There has to be more to it than just an exchange problem. Bentley\'s not the problem on the line. The pass rush is coming from the edges not the middle. Riley and Gandy have to step up or sit down.
