Re: Patriots given extra timeout!!
I'm sorry, I'm with Boutte on this. I'm not upset that we lost, we were gonna lose some games this season, I get that. It's HOW we lost. We obviously didn't show up to play the first half, and that's our own fault. But we came out swinging in the second half and fought hard to get back in the game. It's hard enough to beat a team like the patriots with neutral referees, but when the calls are blatantly called against you, I'm sorry, it's hard not to notice that. Even some of the guys on ESPN radio yesterday was calling Bravo Sierra. We had the entire football world against us last year. I think we're still being scrutinized because of Roger Goodell's bounty gate. We got blow to the head penalties called against us that was completely unfair. The patriots made some "blow to the head" plays was wasn't even looked at. The off sides penalty? really? They even reviewed it. The no time-out? WTF? What about that choke hold on the last play of the game? Come on man! Call me a nut, call me a conspiracy theorist, call me a sore loser, I don't care. Without those crappy referees in that game on Sunday, it would have been a whole different ball game. Would we have won? Would we have lost? I don't know and I don't care. But we wouldn't have lost like that. Now, I'm not whining because we lost. I just want the refs to either be trained properly, or have some kind of consequences for blatently terrible calls. Were they the reason we lost? Not completely, no. Did they contribute to our loss? You're damn right they did.

All points are valid even if some feel its a form of crybabyism. Cool I have no problem with it . BUT really all eyes are on the QB and not 1 saw he signaled for T.O. I feel once a group of refs blow dat many calls, they shouldn't be allowed to ref for whille, get suspended something needsto done

Re: Patriots given extra timeout!!
Plain and simple we had the ball twice with a little over 2 min left in the game and we did nothing with it. We should have run the ball on the 2nd down before we punted vs. throwing it. We also should have ran the clock down and taken the -5 yrd on the punt. We could have also not thrown the guy out of bounds on the Pats last drive. WE had a lot of mistakes in the game that hurt us. Yes the refs didn't help but we also didn't help ourselves with this game.

Yes, there are bad calls in every game. But one of those bad calls was reviewed (the false start) and they still got it wrong. One resulted in a play that should never have been run (the timeout that resulted in an int). One resulted in a game winning touchdown pass with 5 seconds left on the clock (the chokehold there offensive lineman had on our defender). If we got our ass kicked by the Patriots, I'm good. The Patriots are good. No doubt about it. No shame in losing to them, especially with 5 seconds left. But when we get our asses kicked by the patriots AND the officials, I have a problem with that.
I'm ok with our loss. It's not eating at me like it sounds. I just want something constructive to come out of this BS officiating this past weekend. That's all I'm gonna say about it. |

Re: Patriots given extra timeout!!
Anyone see the pass hop off the ground to the pats' receiver on the last drive? At that point in the game I knew they were gonna score and win! Whether we realize it or not little things add up to a lot in the long run so we can say oh that call didn't affect the outcome or that one didn't but the fact is they may have not by their self but together yes!it also affects the players when they are doing everything right and still get penalized! Bottom line we had a chance to ice it we didn't! After that 2 critical non-calls ultimately did us in!
1. Incomplete pass that skipped off the ground 2. The clear as day holding on gallete on the td pass! Call me a whiner but facts are facts!! |
