Saints Setting Historic Turnover Pace
The New Orleans Saints are playing great football with a 5-1 and are doing so because Drew Brees and Co. are playing some of the best football in the team’s history.
Brees and the offense have committed just seven turnovers so far this season, and the only team in Saints history to set the same pace through this point in a season was the 1977 squad. Check out the numbers from NOLA.com’s Jeff Duncan: One of the main reasons the Saints are 5-1 is they are playing almost mistake-free football. The Saints have committed just seven turnovers this season. Matching their lowest total after six games in club history. The 1977 Saints also committed just seven turnovers in their first six games. Moreover, two of the Saints’ turnovers this season were inconsequential. Pierre Thomas was credited with a lost fumble on the desperation kickoff return in the final seconds last week. Darren Sproles also lost a fumble during mop-up duty against the Dolphins in Week 4. Only the Colts (5), Titans (5) Rams (6) and Chiefs (6) have fewer giveaways than the Saints this season. So while the offense looks great and the defense is playing much better under Rob Ryan, the Saints are winning football games because of the most fundamental thing in the game’s history—taking care of the football. The Saints are doing that, and doing it well on a historical pace. Enjoy the ride. Saints Setting Historic Turnover Pace |

Lack of INTs helps.

Re: Saints Setting Historic Turnover Pace
When you are finished coughing you may want to update your understanding of Drews INTs... He is not even in the top 2/3rds of the league. He is averaging less than 1 per game and considering how much he passes he is lower than that in INTs/Pass ATT
