Dude we look like ****. The glaring weaknesses we have had all season were just exposed and exploited even more today. It is going to get worse. We have not even played any team that is a legit playoff contender except MAYBE New England and we all saw what happened there.
It would be different if we were lighting these crappy teams up but we aren't .

Lets be fair about things here. we have some on this forum that will argue with anything negative said about the team. we have some that the sky is falling if we get a incomplete pass or a run for no gain. we have sensible fans and we have fans that are insensible. It don't make you a bad fan either way you fall on that spectrum

Were a great team, but not the best one. OL is not improving, only Brees's foot work and hindsight kept us in that game.
Rookie WR's poping balls up like candy didnt help. Stills and Toon didnt not help the team, and probably lost the game.
Good to see the old Meachem.
.. and though our D made some good stops.. its the Jets offence boys,,if you cant stop them your going to get killed by the broncos, GB, or seahawks on turf at their house.
But in my mind the rookie WR's lost the game, missing easy catches. Brees choked late, but that was at the end.

Scared of a little dose of reality? Maybe you want everyone else to be as negative as you? Not gonna happen. Too many knowledgable fans here that don't believe in obsessing over the negatives.

So, you should be. We are here to believe in the boys. Not ripping the boys for things we dont even understand, but imagined by theory, by fans sitting on a couch.
Almost all players are hurt at this point. When the game starts all fans should believe in their team till the last second.
I never cared if the Saints were 3-13, I still thought they would win during the game. After its a debate, and thats fine. But this end of the world sh!t has never been accepted in the saints camp, and probably never will.
Every team has problems, OL, DL, DS, WR, no team is perfect, and talking about it logically is fine, but Danno's right whinning has never been accepted as a saints fan or here, Its pathetic.
You cant deal with that dont post. Im not being mean, just saying, you better be able to back what you say on here. This ant IM.

If we were given 12-4 based on our 6-2 1st half, I would take it (quickly, without haggling).
It just doesn't happen like that. We've got to play better.
This is a tough stretch the next 8 weeks.
Let's start rolling some of these chumps.

Ohh...I see-and all this time I thought it was a place where a regular Saints fan could come and talk (and sometimes *****) about our team. I didn't realize we had to meet certain "criteria" to be a part of this family...so sorry that us unworthy grunts disturbed yall circle jerk party yall have here!

The offense choked late. Big time teams take the ball down the field in 2:00 min and put it in the end zone. Remember the 2009 game against the Redskins?
It took everything we had and we left everything on the field.

Today, we were an average team. When we win games like today -- we'll be ready for the playoffs. Today was not that day.

Re: Six and Two!

I have now had the misfortune of reading every post in this thread. If there was ever a thread that sums up everything I actually HATE about this board, it's in here. Why does everyone feel the need to attack everyone on their opinion? Is it not the difference in opinion that actually makes the board more interesting? I'm comfortable disagreeing with what people say because that sparks debate. But largely this is all pathetic finger pointing made by, what I assume, are grown men.

And let's also be very clear. It is ALWAYS the same people who crop up time and time again who are the worst offenders. I genuinely don't post here as much as I would like because I cannot be bothered with the responses I will get.

We're still odds on to win our division. I believe we still currently have the #2 seed as things stand in the NFC. We have the 49ers and Seahawks to play which allows us to shape our own destiny. We are still very much Superbowl contenders.

Green Bay has huge injury concerns.
The NFC East is a joke.
The Seahawks have got away with 2 games in a row.
The 49ers do look decent mind!

And that's the rub...would we have to beat Seattle in Seattle twice?!?

But, it is funny to view fans' inability to conjugate their thoughts in a civil manner which may either be due to overconsumption of alcoholic beverages or regression to their cro-magnon/neanderthal tendencies...

However, there is cause for concern over the sloppy penalized play, lack of offensive balance and overall lack of physicality...

Watching Zach Strief give his postgame comments/interview pretty much summed up the whole pathetic performance...

Re: Six and Two!

The pattern is established. We don't have the 0-line talent or scheme to run the ball nor defend against a quality front 4. We don't have the health of key players to have consistency. We are still another year away from being super bowl contenders. If we make it to the playoffs, this would be a successful season. But we will have to hold on tight to do so. We could lose 4 of the next 5 and be second in the division (D, SF, SEA, CAR) and on the outside looking in on the second wild card spot. Not unreasonable given who we've beaten and who we've lost to. Throw in a quality win and maybe it will change.

In the two losses, we've had the ball at the end with fate in our hands. Good teams win. Great teams don't get into those situations. Bad teams do what we did.

I'll agree with that, provided we substitute "average" for "bad", eh? I'm always up for a compromise, ;). Close to 50% of NFL games this season have been decided by 7pts or less and many on the last few plays ... the bad teams don't get into those situations..

This.

Our goal for the year needs to be developing our rookies and avoiding career ending injuries. If we make the playoffs, great, but I'm not counting on it any more.

We draft O-Line big time in 2014 and hopefully get two more shots at a championship with Drew in 2014 and 2015.

Still want to look up the meaning of passive aggressive?

1. "pick your head up" is not calling anyone out, its what I would tell close personal friends after a loss (including my self)..... ESPECIALLY when I did not post it in anyone else's thread.
2. You still do not understand "Passive Aggressive". Passive Aggressive is using terms like "common sense", or "the facts" in attempt to end a conversation you don't care for. Passive Aggressive is obstructionism, and feel free to cite all the Jets loss threads that I went into and told people they were anything you stated above.
3. You must have me confused with someone else.
4. The team lost and people come here to vent by attacking forum members. That's not cool and its pretty uncalled for.

Regardless of how you or anyone else feels about me, beating around the bush, or being indirect is something I've never been accused of. I am pretty much in your face.

We have problems on offense with teams that have a top front 7, and we have problems on defense with teams that have a top o-line... The jets happen to have a top 6 i believe of both.

How many years have we been gashed by good RBs? Its nothing new, Caddillac Williams, Blount, Lynch, Jackson...have been doing it to us since at least 2008. The difference about this season is our o-line not handling a good d-front very well.

On a positive note, we has a RB ave 4.8 YPC yesterday.

I agree completely, forget Super Bowl, forget the playoffs, forget winning any more games -- this year is over, our goal should be next year, building our rookies, and I think to avoid harmful injuries we should immediately sit Drew the rest of the way, to avoid any unnecessary injury to him in a meaningless game... Next year is our shot, except Dude says that it will take "a few years" to build an O-line, so then next year is gonna be a mess too, and the year after that, so I suppose we can pretty much forget about it ever happening with Drew.... we will never get the O-line together in time for Drew, so I guess we're done. 6-2, first in the division, well we can still play for pride, I suppose.

There is nothing negative about calling it how you see it. Someone voicing a their concern about the team doesn't deserve to be attacked personally. Your perception that knowledgeable fans aren't concerned is your opinion. There is nothing wrong having insightful debate on these forums, its why I visit them. When people like you and a few others start personally attacking other posters over their opinions I think CSC might be a better option, and that's sad.

It was a poor game to watch but its done, over, gone, history!

Lets move on, we are still looking good in our division and as someone mentioned on another thread we tend to play bad against the poor teams but up our game against the better teams! If that turns out to be the case then the next few weeks should be good for us? . . . . . . Well you have to be positive don't you? :-)
