Six and Two!

We are Six and Two with both losses to AFC teams.... If I has to have two losses that's where I would have them.

Life is good.

Seriously, pick your head up, there is a lot of football to be played yet for everyone and did you seriously think we would actually be 6-2 at this point?

I'm with you oak but the O-line has GOT to play better. As for the receivers today? They showed up with hands of stone.

Our biggest problem is the OLine but the D disappointed today. Big time.

Hooray. Yeah 6-2 is good. Problem is that Seattle and San Fran and Carolina and GB are ready. We may win it or lose it soon. Fun season though. Let's just get in the playoffs! Then take it from there.

6-2 but we now hit the hard stretch. Got cowboys and niners up next. Niners will be a loss and Cowboys are too hard call but we could be 6-4 in two weeks. How does that sound ?

Are you kidding me? They certainly have to do work against the rush. We got gashed. Outside of that, there was a lot of very good work in there. They were put on the field time after time because, and I never thought I would say this, our woeful offence couldn't do anything with the ball!

Yeah just hope key players on offense are injured not in the game, playing hurt, or the other team has to force injury such as Sproles then you may have a shot. Seriously we came into this game limping against a very good defense in there home field and we still kept it close... nothing to be ashamed about.

Yes, I'm serious and not kidding you. I also didn't say a thing about playing well.

The Saints weren't ready to play today. Not at all. Too many mental mistakes with penalties, no pass protection, couldn't stop the run, too many dropped passes, and Brees was off. All of these won't happen in the same game every week, but you can bet that the better teams are going to blueprint this game to exploit the Saints weaknesses. The Jets aren't that good and they made the Saints look like a Pop Warner team today. They were flat-out dominated. They can't have many more games like that or it's going to be a short trip in the playoffs.

6-2 is good, but offensively we have looked down right pathetic in our losses

Brees is lucky he didnt have 5 picks today

Perhaps some of you should cool off a little before you go all Betty White.

Take a breather and let the sting of the loss go away.

We are 6-2 and had an off day full of key injuries.

Yeah, how many drops and bobbles today for potential INT's?
Even the second INT was a bobbled pass.

And Toon turned up at the end which was called back, but he dropped some key balls.

Overall, sloppy offensive play. Drew hurried and had some bad throws, but it's not just Drew and the o-line's fault today. Receivers were a mess in general!

Our receivers need to focus on either catching it or knocking it down.. Tips will be the end if us if we don't get that under control..

Also doesn't help Drew is throwing a little behind or at rookies into triple coverage.

Yeah the WR's thought they were playing volleyball out there given the Jets the ball back. I mean this game was still very winnable at the end we just didn't have the momentum to push us through and we couldn't overcome the previous mistakes while the Jets played mistake free football rarely getting a flag.

Re: Six and Two!

6-2 isn't a bad record.

We have some tough games coming up and the Panthers are playing well. There are more concerns about this team right now than any other point in the season. The loss to the PATs was because of one play but in this game we did nothing well and got our hat handed to us.

Hopefully some adjustments are made. In 09 we lost 3 in a row and everyone was saying the same thing about this team.

I am not happy losing this one, no one is but 6-2 isn't bad. Carmichael needs to take over play calling and our O-line coach needs to be fired.

If toon makes that long catch, totally different ball game

All the momentum went to jets completely after that

1-2 in the last 3 weeks.... not good at all.

Is the team falling apart?

I knew this thread was coming before the game was over. Apparently we play AFC teams for no reason, because according to some fans it doesn't matter. We might aswell forfeit these games so no one gets hurt, right?

I didn't think we'd be 6-2, I thought we'd be at least 7-1. If you had low expectations coming into the season, then you're not much of a fan. 6-2 is still good, and I'll give you that. But we lost to two teams we should have beaten, and would have beaten if we hadn't thrown each game away with idiotic mistakes and play calls.

What we are seeing, is that we suck on the road. Which makes every loss so painful. If we do not secure home field advantage then we appear to have a very minimal shot at going anywhere in the playoffs. This team needs to improve dramatically on the road.

DAL
SF
@ATL
@SEA
CAR

Judging by how we have played in the last 3 games I say we go 2-3 losing to SF SEA and CAR. Going to be tough road ahead. Personally I don't think Payton should be calling the plays anymore.

So you gave up before the game was over? Seems that would be the only way to know what the content of the thread would be.

Perhaps your pure genius.... since I make one every week.

Either way, take a breather before you give the impression we are Falcons fans going at each other when the team is 6-2.

No, when the jets were kneeling on the ball and we had no timeouts, smart ass. I knew at that point this thread was probably already on it's way.

You and others said the same B.S. after we lost to the Patriots.

And do you know why it bothers me? Two things. First, it's moronic to pretend any loss is less damaging when they all count against your record. But the main reason, is that some people feel the need to tell the rest of us how we should react. "Did you really think we'd be 6-2?"... As a matter of fact I thought we'd be better than that. Not because I'm spoiled, but rather because I took a look at the schedule and took a look at what the Saints were capable of and told myself we could win these games. The Jets are not very good. They are extremely average. This is a disappointment.

The drops and Ivory running through holes my mama could have gained 5 yards...the drops though, that is the primary reason we lost.

Turnovers and dropped passes killed any momentum we had. We are banged up and lost to a team that had something to prove after taking a beat down last week. On to Jerry's kids. WHO DAT!!!

Surely all that Oak is saying is that if we are going to lose, it's better to lose to a team in the AFC than in the NFC. Which is correct. He's not saying he wants us to lose.

Am I missing something?

Mitch, you would do well to think before you post. You consistently take little jabs, and make no effort to make sense. Just what in Hades does me saying that some of you are saying the same crap as after the Patriots game have anything to do with a Panther bandwagon?

Re: Six and Two!

The problem is that the Seahawks and 9ers are beating the crappy teams on their schedule, we're losing to them.

So, if they split with the good teams on their schedule, they're okay. We now have to beat Dallas, SF, and Seattle, AND Carolina twice in order to stay on pace or ahead.

what you are missing is my point. I didn't say anyone wants to lose. But to suggest that it's ok to lose because it's an AFC team is nonsense. It's two loses. We are behind the Seahawks as a result. It's simple math that some people refuse to acknowledge.

You watching the Seattle / TB game right now?

14-0 TB, almost the 1/2, and Seattle's D is looking fairly normal at home.
