The message martin received is all I need to know. There is absolutely zero plausible reason for it. We are not a court of law, he is guilty of that message. Found guilty in a court of law is also no litmus test of whether someone did something or not.

Talking to him about what? He hasn't been released, the trade deadline has passed, and we do not have the cap space.

Judge slowly. You have only one real chance to get it right.

our coaching staff likely had the same opportunity to sign incognito as any NFL team...

they didn't.

i don't presume to second guess professionals such as our coach. i let them make the choices. i also allow pilots to fly planes without my input.

whomever THEY sign, is who i'm loyal to.

Re: Incognito - Would you want him??

Here is an interesting read on Incognito including how he got his last name.:D

Also, I was listing to Dan Patrick this morning and he had Armondo on a call. Armondo mentioned that he heard the voicemail and at the end Incognito laughs and says "okay, call me back" in a tone like it was friendly. I don't know. But what an interesting spectacle.

He also said that when the media entered the locker room yesterday in Miami that the players had a circus theme playing loudly.

From Article: Those who know Incognito say he gets his fire from his father, Richard Sr., the son of an Italian father and German mother who immigrated to the United States. Richard likes to tell the story of the Incognito name: When his father was processed at Ellis Island, he said he did not want to keep his family name, so the official bestowed upon him the name “Incognito.”

We are doing exactly what everyone else did to us with the Bountygate crap to Incognito. We are judging the guy off what the media is giving us. We dont know the whole truth. We were quick to defend the Saints when the media was not giving out everything now we are bashing Incognito without the whole story. Come on now!! We expected more out of the people bashing us and now we are doing the same. Lets get the facts out.

I think we are just getting snippettes of what really went down. Remember how fast people were to judge us on the whole Bounty bullcrap. I'll reserve judgement on this one until I hear some more facts.

I know I hated it when we were publicly hung so fast; lets give some courtesy.

No. They have shown all the evidence that points to him as being guilty. SMH he tried to destroy evidence and the cops knew what he was doing. they found the gun used in the murder that was registerd to Hernandez. With Incognito we only heard part of the voicemail not the whole thing so ya. You are doing EXACTLY what everyone did to us with the Bountygate. Only hearing the parts you want and jumping to conclusions.

HAIL NO.

I've seen enough of Richie's shenanigans over the years to know he is a dirty player who I do not want anywhere around our locker room (unless he is cleaning it).

And to the poster who said he should go to Atlanta, smh man no WAY, then we have to play him twice a year and put up with his antics that much more

He said what he said and there's no getting around it. But I would love to hear your justifiable spin condoning what he did on multiple occasions.

Sources tell ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that officials from both the NFL and the Dolphins have heard the tape and have copies of the message.

Sources familiar with the tapes say these are terms Incognito used over time and were not isolated incidents, including the use of the racial epithet multiple times.

Sources also say Martin received a series of texts that included derogatory terms referring to the female anatomy and sexual orientation.

Even his play on and off the field show how much of a stand up guy he is. I'm sure it's all just a big misunderstanding.

never said i condone what he said. I am saying you are jumping to a conclusion based off one little thing(a partial voice mail converted to text) just like everyone did to us with the bountgate crap. You have not heard the voice mail nor have I only a few people have. Tanahill and other players on the team have said that Martin and Incognito were like BFF's. Also that is only part of the voice mail you are quoting according to another source (cant remember if it was espn or even on here) said at the end of the voice mail Incognito said he was messing around and to call him back. So back to my original point of you are jumping all over this guy for a fraction of what maybe on a voice mail that the press is putting out. Way to be just like the folks that bashed us and you complained about!!!

Re: Incognito - Would you want him??

What conclusion am I jumping into? That he made a racial comment? That was he said was wrong regardless of what else may or may not be on that voicemail?

Is this really debateable?

Re: Incognito - Would you want him??

see this is the freaking stupid grey area that pC gets all wrong being so black and white about this.

players black and white on the dolphins back Incognito on this. a few players have even said he is the blackest white dude they know. so he falls in the area where the N word is ok say. just like black players saying it to each other and it is not an issue.

they also said the word is used often in humor among the whole team. so there an issue here? you have to look at the grey in this. this not so cut and dry.

Does Political Correctness belong in the locker room?

then you have the " back out of a line mans trip to vegas" and all that crap to. thats why team mates were not sitting with him or so people are saying.

there is more to this so i sit and wait for what happens in the end.

once again it is not so cut dry.

if it is :

I want any player black or white that uses the N word to get the same punishment.

either it is the word itself or it is the color of the person using it.

equality stance or a racist stance.

oooo... he said a bad word.... lets lynch him.

Who alive hasnt said something they regret, or that is wrong?
Who hasnt said something about a group of somebody?
Murderers can be parolled, but the worst sin you can ever do is "racism."
And yet every person alive, black people included, have at sometime expressed a distrust of people who are different from them. Magic Johnson got Tha Aids
and he's still alive. Racism, if there really is such thing, is curable. Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone.

Re: Incognito - Would you want him??

1 & 2 - yea Mike. Then I manned the fk-up and apologized.

Has Richie apologized? No bro.... He is demanding people apologize to him. He threatened someone's mother then demands his good name be restored.

3 - After they do the time.

Lastly, the whole sinner and stone pretty much does away with our legal system, jury of peers, and what not doesn't it? Is it ok to chastise your fellow man for chastising another fellow man?

No one is throwing stones at Incognito... We just don't want the narcissist on our team.

Whoa... slow down there skymike.

I missed where I said anything about crucifying him... much less lynching him. This is what you call jumping to conclusions. He made a racial comment, I did not say he was a racist. There's a BIG difference.

I've said my fair share of ignorant comments throughout the years... but I'm no racist by any means.

What's with people reading things that aren't there?

In my humble opinion, I think Jon Martin is a giant baby for leaving the team. But I do not want Incognito.

This isn't the first time he's caused trouble, and it probably won't be the last. He IS extremely immature and a jerk, and there can't be any debate on that. That's not what we need.

But Martin has to be a man and stand up for himself. Running away doesn't make a statement... Actually, it does... It says "I'm a spoiled, entitled brat and I should be able to make millions and be treated like a princess at the same time". I'm sure Incognito is unpleasant, but you're not a child. It's no different than having an A-hole for a drill Sargent or boss, and having to put up with it. And when you've had enough, say something, don't run and cry.

11 pages... Good Grief!

Anyway my final thoughts.

WHODAT2321 - You have not said you condone what happened, you are however defending Incognito. You think some portion of Incognito's personality is missing from our o-line? Grab a ticket, head to new Orleans, ask coach Payton for some Oklahoma time with Brown, Evans, Strieff and Grubbs; come back and tell us which one is the bigger p****.

Racism ~ When W***as and N***as get together, its all subjective, and somehow its cool to call each other names other than Bill, Bob, or Fred.

Presumption ~ Some people do not need a federal court to convene to disagree with any part of a situation.

Forgive and forget ~ The person in question must first ask for it, do some penance, something other than keep jacking his jaw more for that to happen.

Martin ~ Obviously he has mental issues if he saves voicemails for 6 months, or pops a fuse in a cafeteria. Regardless of what Incognito said, Martin has been called worse on the field every game of his life.

All that said and done... Call me what ever name you like, I doubt you will get much of a response. Threaten my mother, sister, wife or children and I am going to throw you a beating.

No, BOTH are hilarious.
People pay good money to see racist, sexist comedians. Like Chris Rock.

Everyone should get over it & focus on important things like making money, and keeping their kids away from Rap & Tattoos.

Come to think of it, Incognito has arms full of tattoos.
I've changed my vote to guilty.

Here is my solution. It should end the spectacle and we can get back to football.

Incognito: He should be taken behind the woodshed by Sarge Hulka for 15 minutes. I say 15 minutes because Incognito may actually put up a bit of a fight at first. Not for long though. Hulka will turn Incognito into a *****cat. Problem solved and one less punk in the world.

Martin: The more I ready I think he is just a yuppie whiner. He should have to have a months worth of daily dialog with our own Choupique until the yuppie in Martin ceases to exist. Choup will do a better job than Incognito because I doubt he will use any racial slurs. Problem solved and one less yuppie in the world.

Oak: You are sentenced to reading this entire thread over again and again until you can publicly say you enjoy it and post such. This is a self-policing sentencing.

SkyMike: Keep your anti-tattoo campaign rolling!

This message is a sad attempt at humor by a starving comedian. Its not that i am trying to defend him i have already said he was a douche bag, its just a lot of people are bashing the hell out of him without having the whole truth being out. Yet those same people *****ed when the media did it to the Saints with the bountygate. with his personality missing from the line yes we do not have that type of person on the o-line. we are missing a K. Turley/ Incognito type of person on our o-line. We dont have someone who is going to "mix it up" with the other team to play head games with them. And if you want to buy my ticket to NOLA I would be glad to back home and visit the Saints and I would tell them that they need more fire. But until you buy my ticket and give me some leave then we can both speculate on what we need.

Here's a story...

J Martin, not feeling the love, gets traded, waived and added to the Saints offensive line...

He geauxs on to win a Superbowl and announces in a postgame commercial...

"Hey Richie, I just won the Superbowl, and I'm going to DisneyWorld -How you doing?!?"

Incognito flies into a rage and gets tangled in a fight with a 155 Scot-Irishman...
