Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Not concerned about the D at all. We need to change our zone blocking scheme, its not working. Also, when is the last time we ran a draw play? Or even handed the ball off out of the shotgun?...

We are not going to shotgun an A Gap run when every team stunts through the A Gap to disrupt Brees' line of sight. That would be like running an end-around on 4th and inches with your slowest reserve tight end.

That's crazy talk, who would even think of such a move?

I've always thought the draw, pitch, shuttle pass, delayed hand-off, end around (but not with a 3rd string TE on 4th and one with no one blocking the RDE).

I remember that hand-off to Reggie as Devery came around for the end-around. That play worked a lot. I haven't seen it in a long time. Sometimes we'd hand it off to the RB, sometimes pitch it to Devery...

I loved that play.

Yup... seems like we have taken the flash out of the running game. There is no more mis-direction within the zone scheme. I hope it changes but I doubt it will.

That is the kind of stuff that we are missing.
