Outside on New Orleans, who knew about Junior Galette, Cam Jordan, Keenan Lewis, Jabari Greer, David Hawthorne, Akiem Hicks, John Jenkins, Corey White, Broderick Bunkley...

They look at 2012 and think MJenkins and Roman Harper are gawd awful safeties without considering the scheme mis-fit we had last year. Hell we even had Saints fans here that couldn't understand that.

Plus no Vernon Davis for the 9ers this week.
Yeah, manning Davis with Malcolm Jenkins all game... not one of Gregg Williams best decisions. Its a shame Jenkins got the majority of the hate for that instead of Williams.

Truth, did you see the replays from how they made Patrick Robinson play Dez Bryant last year? Not that PRob was a shutdown corner by any means, but he went from having a career game against us in that zone scheme to having 1 catch and 44 yards against us in Ryan's press man coverage.

Lewis is just built right to handle the bigger WRs in today's NFL. The thought of the typical CB a few years ago was for them to be quick with good hips and fast recovering speed. This lead to small CBs like Greer, who had success at many points and still does. However, in order to compete with the new type of WRs our CBs need to get bigger. Lewis was the first step in that direction and I think White is the same size and body frame as Lewis. Next year I hope we see White starting opposite of Lewis.

Not doubting the scheme issue at all just comparing the difference in CBs, Greer and Robinson are of the old thought process regarding CBs.

I would say Robinson fits the Lewis/White mold a lot more than the Greer/Porter one. Losing Robinson was really disappointing to me as I felt like he was already on the way to unseating Greer at the no. 2 corner. White's development has really helped though.

The fact we are even discussing our 3 or 4 good corners says enough about the talent we have built up.
