Why did we cut McAfee?

I forget which announcer said it last night during the game, but one said how smart it was for the Saints to sign McAfee, and the other asked why they ever cut him. My sentiments exactly - why would you ever cut this guy? Sure special teams take a back seat to other positions, but really... this guy is a gamer and has been a pro bowler. The decisions this staff makes just keep making me shake my head. Good news - we got him back. That's good news.

well he was cut becuase he didn\'t fit into any Offense or Defense... so what they did was cut him and then out special teams SUCKED! So the brought him back and WHAM-O! Special Teams are good again.

He was a free agent they didn\'t cut him....
The real reason? Money
The Saints actually saved money by not signing McAfee earlier. In the NFL players with a certain amount of experience (years in league) get paid for a full year if they are on the opening day roster.
