Yes.

1973, Falcons 63, Saints 7 (they didn't pull starters)

And its been a nasty feud ever since.

Personally I hate the 49ers more, but its close.

Hating the 9ers is a requirement before you can be a true fan in the NFL. Jim Harbaugh and Colin Kaepernick, can you not find two bigger douchebags?? They both sound like Robots during interviews and Kaepernick to this day has never given credit to the other team after defeat. We beat the Sh*t out of them and it was about what the "Niners didn't do". What kind of tool kisses his bicep after a touchdown?? After we kicked their ass we sent them a collective message: Who wants to go back to Seattle??? NOOOOBOOOODY HAHA. I like you already :D I am liking this board more and more... I don't even hate the Rams or Cards so I guess our division rivalries suck..

I agree about Harbaugh. Douchebag to the nth degree. An embarrassment to the NFL actually. Why can't he be like his brother in Baltimore?

You guys have owned Atlanta so it hasn't been much of a rivalry.. You have to lose to your opponent to hate them don't you? I would think they would hate you more than you hate them but it is awesome to hear these rivalries still exist.. Hate on brother!!!!

Going along with the theme of how the rest of the season will go, how does your team match up with the Panthers??? I know revenge will be a factor given they swept you last year (Obviously you were not the same team) but what will be the deciding factor for a Saints win or loss?

I would rather talk x's and o's but I guess I will throw in my opinion. While I certainly wouldn't begrudge anybody the notion that The Saints can beat the Seahawks I will throw in a few tidbits.

1) This is the best Seahawks team I have ever seen including the 2005 Superbowl team in which we were screwed. That team had a better o line but that is it.
2) The Niner team you beat was one controversial play away from beating you on your home field. Their offense put up a staggering 6 points of drives not aided by turnovers and still came oh so close to a win. The same Niners team we beat 29-3 and 42-13 our last two games.
3) You guys are very borderline with injuries to your db's and we are as healthy as can be with a motivated and supremely talented Percy Harvin added to our offense. We won our games this year while missing 3/5 of our offensive line.
4)You couldn't beat us in Seattle with our worst team since Pete Carroll arrived here, what makes you think you can beat us with our best team? I think you guys are in for a rude awakening.

Here is to a great game in two weeks and if you guys win I will be back to face the music :)

Just wondering what you think of your head coach?

Personally I think he is a moron.

Case in point, the Rams game where he was going home with 3 timeouts in his pocket had the Rams scored that touchdown. Mark Trestman did the same thing in the game vs Baltimore this past Sunday and also lucked out and limited the team to a FG and won in OT. Neither of those head coaches deserved a win.

I also remember witnessing Carroll attempting a 61 yard FG to try to win a game vs Atlanta at home on the last play of the game back in 2011. Of course it wasn't even close.

The Rams game Carroll came out and said that he was going to gamble the Hawks could stop St Louis and win the game. He didn't want to burn any timeouts and give the Rams extra time. I secretly think Carroll had doubts Russell could drive the length of the field for a game tying field goal. The Rams were blocked every time they went in the red zone so why wouldn't Carroll have faith in his defense.

I was more disappointed in the game plan offensively. The Rams have two premier bookend (and pro bowl) pass rushing d ends and their soft spot was in the belly of the D, so what do the hawks do?? Spread em wide and put our back up tackles on an island against Long and Quinn. Bowie did well against Long (only giving up one sack) but McQuistan was destroyed by Quinn. I would have put two tight ends at the LOS and ran it down their throat with Beast Mode, but word was his back was bothering him (not substantiated).

The 61 yard field goal or a Hail Mary?? Our kicker was hitting them in practice so why not?

It is hard for anybody to hate Carroll. Our franchise was in the dumps and in three years he put us in the divisional round with 31 seconds left to the NFC Championship game and this year we are 10-1. The Seahawks are 18-3 in their last 21 games so I am not sure how this could happen if Pete was an idiot. If you are curious about Carroll, here is a great link to read about him.. To be honest, I think he is brilliant:

Here we go again.

Kicking a 61 yarder in practice is different that game time because of the lower trajectory required.

First off, last time isnt based on this time. In THAT Seattle game we did not have:
Jimmy Graham
Marques Colston
Pierre Thomas
Chris Ivory
Jabari Greer
Tracy Porter
Darren Sproles
A banged up Drew Brees from the incident week 3 against falcons.

You can claim you have gotten better since then but when our offense has Colston, Graham, and some kind of running game we are capable of beating anybody. Hasselbeck had one of his rare good games against us also, and a good game by Hasselbeck is about the same as a good game by Russell. Also Lynch went off on us that game like he is doing now. Only significant difference is the secondary. Also Seattle had recently played us in the superdome that year where we played rusty off of a bye week so Seattle got information in that game. I actually thought we would lose to y'all in the playoffs based on that knowlege and the whole NFC West home win trend in the playoffs(not including rams). But we would have lost to the rams too had we played them(same scenario reg season info).

And we go to you likely TWICE. You don't think we're gonna get a lot on you in the first game? Fox didnt adjust against Baltimore after winning; Belechik didnt against the jets in 10; McCarthy didnt against the giants in 11; Harbaugh didnt against the giants in 11. We're supposed to believe Carroll is shifty enough to come out with a different throw off plan in the playoffs if his team wins in two weeks?

We had Julius Jones and Deshaun Wynn starting as our main RB's. We pulled both of them off of bar stools late in the season to stop the bleeding at RB.

You'll see a different Saints team next week.

But your team deserves respect. I think the top 4 teams in the league are Denver, New Orleans, Carolina and Seattle. I also think we'll play you guys twice this season.

Whats funny is Jones ran well but SP wouldnt give him the ball enough and Brees with his hurt MCL was still trying to throw. I was angry and when they started feeling Jones the ball the saints were starting to come back and then Brees throws again next drive and we end up settling for a missed fg.

The one drive we scored after being down 17-30 he was given the ball multiple times. A rb is not going to go off with 1 carry every three or four plays unless he is AP.

Apples and oranges. Chancellor is a safety and enforcer and was drafted for the sole purpose of lining up with physical, pass catching tight ends and intimidating wide receivers. The others are skill positioned shut down CB's.

Yeah Browner will be back in 4-6 weeks. Many people think Thurmond should start over him so we are shrugging our shoulders. Browner will be missed when we play the Niners. They will have Crabtree and Boldin who are two of the more physical wide receivers, but the way Colin is playing I don't see any chance in hell of them beating us.

2 of the last 3 NFC #1 seeds have lost in the Divisional Round, allowing the #2 seed (or highest seed available) to have home field in the NFC CG

I agree with the #2 seed being almost as valuable as the #1 seed

SaintSproles 11-20-2013 05:07 PM

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.

If the playoffs started today:

#6 San Fran @ #3 Detroit
#5 Carolina @ #4 Philadelphia

Best scenario is San Fran upsetting Detroit and having to go to Seattle, where both teams can brutally beat up on each other. Obviously, Saints fans would hope for a San Fran upset.

So the Saints playing a home game vs Carolina/Philly winner and then potentially playing the NFC CG vs San Fran at home (payback time). That's the road to the Super Bowl for me.

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.

Carolina looks tough right now. I think they are more of a challenge than the Hawks, for us at least because they are division a opponent (I dont think Carolina is a better team than them).

It is all wide open right now and the NFC looks tough regardless of who is in; that HFA is going to be huge in the NFC.

If you look at the league from just a statistical point of view the Saints have the 2nd ranked offense and the 4th ranked defense; the combination of a great offense and great defense is being overlooked, and no other team in the league has that combination.

CBs cover tightends! Talib is a CB and so is Cromartie and they both covered Graham.

If Denver and Seattle make the sb as 1 seeds, then this season should be forfeited because there is NO way Wilson is getting that Lombardi over Manning.

Sadly I feel the same way, as everyone seemed to already annoint him. The refs better be fair and not try to tilt the game in Denvers favor if Seattle is winning... just to fulfill the predictions and year long storylines. Maybe im just dubious from SB XL...
