How I think rest of Season will play out.
- Saints will win the division even if Carolina closes in.
- Saints will lose @ Seattle. - Saints will probably finish at 11-5. - Saints will split the Carolina games. - Since the Saints will finish 11-5, I see them losing 3 more games, that is 1 to Carolina, 1 to Seattle, the other will be either at St Louis or home vs Tampa, reason we could drop one at home vs Tampa is resting starters once the #2 seed is locked up. - Seattle will gain the #1 seed most likely with a 13-3 or even 14-2 record, but this is not the end of the world. Why is it not the end of the world?....... Remember the game @ Seattle I say we will probably lose? I think come playoff time in the Divisional, we will beat whoever is there, lets face it, their is no one too impressive outside of Seattle/N.O. right now in the NFC, maybe even entire NFL. But we will go into Seattle in NFCCG and Win, its hard to beat an opponent twice in 1 season, call it dejavue for the 2010 season when we beat Seattle at home and lost to them on the road in the playoffs. Remember, Seattle is having some of those moments where they struggle vs some teams, remember Tampa Bay? They struggle vs any opponent in the playoffs like they did with TB and other teams like STL, those teams will take advantage of it and deal Seattle a big loss. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
If we go 11-5, we could be looking at a wild card. Panthers can go 5-1 in division, we need them to lose to Miami, TB, or jets because I don't think they will lose to Atlanta.
I think after this win, if we can beat Atlanta on short rest(is this really even a q?) we should go 12-4. Yeah rams defense is suddenly back against the pass thats one to worry about but they have no SJax either and our secondary isnt our problems. That though is gonna be the tricky game. If we beat Seattle we should still go 12-4 I believe we will lose one of those road games. Thats good enough for 1 seed. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I think we can beat Seattle with the long week before, and then they have to play @SF which is a really hard place to win. Assuming we split with Carolina I could easily see both teams going 13-3 with us holding head-to-head and conference record tiebreakers over Seattle.
I said 13-3 before the season started, I still think it can happen. But that's looking a little bit ahead. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
As Jack Vegas said, i think we both wind up 13-3.
We win all except @ Carolina Seattle loses to us and 40-whiners |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I dont trust Carolina to be dominant all the way through, but I can see them getting a WC.

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
We are playing too good on both side of the ball to go 11-5.
I see Seattle dropping at least 2 away games. 49ers and the Giants are making their typical end of year push. Saints vs Seattle in Seattle is a coin flip for me. That puts us still in contention for HFA at the end of the season and we are resting no one... Partly due to injury we cant rest anyone. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
You guys are hyping up carolina like they played. NE yet.. if they beat them then I'd worry. I think its possible we win out. Seattle hasn't really played anyone like us and seeing how we stopped gore I'm hype. Wishing that Greer wasn't hurt but next man up!
|
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
Carolina will drop at least 3 more games maybe 4. We may only lose 2 more if that many.
|
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
In the 2nd round a team like the 49ers or Carolina could take out the Seahawks, giving us the NFCCG in New Orleans. That is assuming we get the 2 seed and win our div round game.

A Panther loss tonight versus New England and we'd have to pretty much collapse to lose the NFCSouth. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I think we will split with Carolina and lose to Seattle. We're looking at a 12-4 season.
|
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
Can I change my answer? I think we will sweep Carolina. They didn't look that hot against Brady and the Pats, and even though they pulled off the win, they don't stand a chance against us.
|
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I still believe we could possibly go 13-3 or 14-2. Maybe I'm dreaming. Drew Brees has, to my knowledge, never lost on Monday Night Football. The Atlanta game is winnable because they are reeling and it's Drew Brees in prime time. The Seahawks game is winnable because it's on a Monday night. We get Carolina at home before we have to play them on the road. We should beat Tampa Bay with ease in the dome. The one that worries me the most is the Carolina game on the road. The Rams game worries me slightly, but only because that entire team is schizophrenic and you never know which team you are going to face. Going 5-1 the rest of the season is within the realm of possibility, but most likely we will end up 12-4 which will be good enough for the #2 seed.

Okay actually I'm wrong we can still beat Seattle and lose the 1 seed to them as Seattle looks to be no worse than 13-3. So we have to beat the rams and seahawks both on the road to have the 1 seed. |

This is possible, I was just thinking about this too recently. Seattle did win in Carolina and it was a low scoring game. Carolina definitely has the knowledge of that defense. However, I don't know if Carolina can win in Detroit. Philadelphia, they can. I think Detroit or Philadelphia will represent the 3 seed and Dallas still is the favorite to win the east but they can only get 4 to me. |

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
First off I would like to say greetings one and all. I have to say I admire Drew Brees work ethic and his overall toughness. The Saints have a fantastic head coach and your team looks like it will challenge for the NFC title this year. I must say that your knowledge of the Hawks is a little off. I would rather talk x's and o's but I guess I will throw in my opinion. While I certainly wouldn't begrudge anybody the notion that The Saints can beat the Seahawks I will throw in a few tidbits.
1) This is the best Seahawks team I have ever seen including the 2005 Superbowl team in which we were screwed. That team had a better o line but that is it. 2) The Niner team you beat was one controversial play away from beating you on your home field. Their offense put up a staggering 6 points of drives not aided by turnovers and still came oh so close to a win. The same Niners team we beat 29-3 and 42-13 our last two games. 3) You guys are very borderline with injuries to your db's and we are as healthy as can be with a motivated and supremely talented Percy Harvin added to our offense. We won our games this year while missing 3/5 of our offensive line. 4)You couldn't beat us in Seattle with our worst team since Pete Carroll arrived here, what makes you think you can beat us with our best team? I think you guys are in for a rude awakening. Here is to a great game in two weeks and if you guys win I will be back to face the music :) |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I like having the panthers on our heals and Seattle a win ahead
It will keep us from a lull and sitting our players at the end of the season Great incentive for hosting playoffs in the dome |

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
FYI to those interested in the tie-breaking scenario.
If the Saints would lose to Seattle and split with Carolina, and Carolina wins out, the tie breaker goes all the way to conference record, which would favor the Saints at 10-2 vs Carolina 9-3. So Carolina pretty much has to sweep us to win the division. Saints at 12-4 get the all important #2 seed. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
we are one game up in the division with a division game come up this week. thats as far ahead as i can look.
so far so good getting to this point but the walking wounded count is getting pretty big. lets get out of the falclowns game healthy |

Love how you beat the hapless Viqueens this weekend and suddenly you guys are so bold. As for head to head, how did it work out (AT HOME) almost losing to our weakest division opponent? Because all I've seen from your team is a lot of luck (Lambs, Sucs, Texans) and your team not as impressive week to week as you might think. If you think Sean Payton and our team won't be ready for your Seahags, you're going to be in for a shock. Check history.... this team is known to AVENGE losses. So if you think beating us 3 years ago helps you today, then you seriously need help. :dunce: And another thing, we have a nice surprise for you - a keg full of whop azz from our defense, which is arguably better than our offense this season. Anyway, glad you came and we will see you after the game as you claim. |

We had Julius Jones and Deshaun Wynn starting as our main RB's. We pulled both of them off of bar stools late in the season to stop the bleeding at RB. You'll see a different Saints team next week. But your team deserves respect. I think the top 4 teams in the league are Denver, New Orleans, Carolina and Seattle. I also think we'll play you guys twice this season. |

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
To me there's not really much difference between the #1 and #2 seeds. It's the difference between #2 and #3 that matters to me, the extra game and the week's rest and the home field. I personally think we will end up no better than #2 behind Seattle, because Seattle's remaining schedule is a gift-wrapped tiptoe stroll through the sugar-coated cupcake garden. They will be this year's team to end up a puffed up 14-2 with an overblown sense of self-confidence, just like we've already seen from this thread.

Much different, Gregg Williams was never one to teach how to tackle either, which ended up being used against them greatly. |

Difference between 1 and 2 seeds is that we have to go to Seattle and play!!! Sorry BIG difference if we get to play in our dome.

We have beaten our opponents by a combined 127 points to your 107. We both have beaten three teams with winning records. You guys lost to the Jets and there is no way they are better than the Saints. It's the NFL and a win is a win. Our Texans were your Jets except we won and you didn't. Not much of a margin to discuss. It isn't luck when you are 10-1. You will get the Lambs in a couple weeks and well see how your team fares against the two best defensive ends in football (Long and Quinn). The same Lambs team that destroyed the Colts. The Rams have trouble with running teams and yours isn't. By the way I believe the Colts had Andrew Luck and a very similar offense to yours. Of course Payton will be ready for the Hawks, not sure I said that so calling me a "dunce" isn't very neighborly. When I posed the question about what makes this fan base think it can beat the Hawks I was expecting an answer, not an insult. I am here to talk football and unlike you, the Saints fans are very classy and I thought I could foster discussion. As for the Falcons: They can't stop the run or pass and can't run and are a mediocre passing team, other than that, they are fantastic. I see the Saints rolling them on Thursday. |

Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
I'm pretty sure everyone in this forum knows whomever gets the #1 seed, gets the advantage to go all the way. The Seahawks are tough and the Saints are tough, and at home that is multiplied x10.
There is still a long a way to go for either of us to be talking smack. Dec 2 will be huge for both teams. |

1. Which means what exactly? Nada. 2. Last year doesn't count this year buddy. In case you haven't noticed, things change, and so has our defense. 3. We won this year with injured o-line also until after the bye week. 4. See #1. You didn't talk Xs &Os because you couldn't, if you could you would have. What is your answer for Graham? If our knowledge of the Seahawks is off your knowledge of the Saints on Monday Night, or after a BYE week is nill. FYI we have seen Harvin a few times before albeit with a much better QB. Don't try coming here framing your smack talk with cordiality, its neither appreciated or as effective as you think. |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.

You have seen Harvin with a better quarterback?? You mean the great Christian Ponder is better than Russell Wilson?? Both Drew Brees and Russell Wilson are MVP candidates from what I can tell. I come here because it is boring to be rah rah with your home fan base. It is much more interesting to discuss football with Non-Seahawk fans; that is my evil agenda. :) |
Re: How I think rest of Season will play out.
What is the Saints answer for Marshawn Lynch?
