FIRST and most importantly - GEAUX Saints - YAHOO! beating our (almost) Franchise long rival!

Holy Cow - I LOVE LOVE LOVE Saints Falcons Week - ya get it twice a year. It is a rivalry that the national media never noticed until the Peyton era --- (insert re opening of the Superdome anecdote here - dunno why they missed it but I did not.)

Just wanted to start with that to let you know where I am coming from.

So...

OK... Call me a casual fan - my wife would disagree - I F@#%ing love the Saints. Life long.

I put about 6 hours a week into it.

Doesn't sound like much but if you average that out over 40 years it is alot - actually - more than I have put into anything.

Football is (as a fan) easy. It is played on Sunday. SUNDAY!

OK once a season you might get a Monday Night game - Cool. Monday Night Football is (or at least was) a big deal - and you could deal with that.

National spotlights - only game on yada yada. Monday Night - I am cool with that. Ya start adding Thursday - and that is just plain greedy.

I set aside my Sundays - for yes, the saints. Have done it for years. Ask me what I am doing Sunday Nov what-ever of 2017 - I am watching the Saints. Easy. I am an easy person. I am from the big Easy.

I read the sports section on Monday and again on Saturday - I buy beer - I buy food. I have friends over. I love it

I go to two games a year (usually away these days - Seattle this year - WHO DAT!)

But sheeze - I have a life too.

I am not ON the team - THURSDAY?!!!

THURSDAY?

Baseball is played on Thursday.

Hockey is played on Thursday.

I MISSED THE F%*$*ing Atlanta New Orleans game ( I think my first in history) because I have a life.

Yes, I knew it was on the schedule. Yes, I texted w friends getting updates. Yes, I am THRILLED we won.

But I know - in years when the Saints have sucked and Falcons were kicking ass - it was a game lying beneath the NFL Radar - Saints Falcons is a game. and (like this year) the opposite was true - the Saints are kicking ass and the Falcons suck - - and LOW AND BEHOLD...

It was (as I can only tell by highlights) an awesome game.

And I missed it.

I HATE HATE HATE Thursday night football.

Anyone form the deep south KNOWS Friday night is game night - (Highschool ball) I live 1 block for Oakland Highschool - this is still true.

Saturday afternoon is college ball and Sunday -- we bar-b-q, drink beer and watch the pros.

WHO THE HELL can Bar-b-q at rush hour (west coast) on a Thursday? THURSDAY?!!!

Get Rid of it. if it throws my schedule off ( the arguably casual fan) I can't imagine what it does to the players.
